We’re a few weeks late with this podcast, but what can you expect from an episode that’s 206 years in the making? The latest Purple Stuff Podcast is all about FRANKENSTEIN. (Or more accurately Frankenstein’s Monster, if you’re the type who cares.) The big man has provided so much entertainment over the years, in everything from movies to cartoons to toys to video games. For this special spooky episode, me and Jay from Sludge Central are naming eight great Frankensteins from all walks of pop culture, with some deep pulls that you definitely aren’t expecting. The latest Purple Stuff Podcast is here, and it’s a mean green mother from outer space. Join me and Jay from Sludge Central as we dive into a 1990 television broadcast of Little Shop of Horrors, complete with the original commercials! It’s a celebration of everything from giant alien flytraps to Burger King! A few years after its theatrical debut, Little Shop was the ABC Sunday Night Movie. September 9th, 1990, to be exact. It must’ve been a pretty big deal, because the volume and variety of advertisers was wild – everything from Happy Meals to horror movies. Naturally, we’ll be talking abou ..read more

Dino Drac’s February Funpack is here!
Dinosaur Dracula!

I know I’m running late on this, but in my defense, that’s very typical of me. Dino Drac’s February Funpack is finally here, and it’s loaded to the brim with stuff that you didn’t need five minutes ago, but definitely do now. It’s genuinely one of the most eclectic Funpack assortments ever. If I could ascribe to it any theme at all, it’s “we’re in the cold winter months and I wanted to give ya a bunch of nonsense to make a stay-at-home Saturday more entertaining.” Subscriptions are currently closed, but I have a solid number of spares that I can offer on an individual basis. The latest Purple Stuff Podcast is here, and this episode is many years in the making. Get set for an hour-long tribute to ALL THINGS SLIME. Slap on a vinyl poncho and watch out for weird glowing puddles. Yes, it’s THE SLIME SHOW. Our ooziest episode ever. Me and Jay from Sludge Central are big fans of the sticky stuff. That was actually the trickiest part of this episode, since we’ve already talked about so many slimy things on prior shows! (Sorry to anyone who was expecting Slimer Sundaes or Turtle Pies, but they’re already in our archives!) Instead, this was a chance for us to fish out so ..read more

Purple Stuff: The 1985 Sears Wish Book!
Dinosaur Dracula!

The latest Purple Stuff Podcast here, and it’s an absolute holiday nostalgia bomb. Pour some cocoa and go find Dad’s old legal pad, because we’re making our Christmas lists from the 1985 Sears Wish Book! If you grew up when we did, I shouldn’t need to tell you how important these books were, especially in the ‘80s when there were more toy lines than I could begin to count. Too young to drive and in a world without the internet, this was how we kept tabs on *everything* that was out there… and how we built our lists for Santa. On our latest episode, me and Jay from Sludge Central are naming e ..read more

Dino Drac’s December Funpack is here! I’m posting this one earlier than usual, because the USPS is molasses in December, and I want to make sure everyone gets these boxes of cheer long before Santa arrives. The December Funpacks are always festive, but I think this might be the most spirited one yet. Pretty much everything in this month’s box is holiday-themed. (Well, except for the peanut butter crackers, I guess.) Subscriptions are currently closed, but I have some spares that I can sell on a one-time basis. The cost is $25, and that includes shipping to anywhere in the United States. Zip ..read more

Welcome to Dino Drac’s 31 Days of Christmas! Check back every day between now and December 25th for bite-sized blogs about ridiculous holiday things. I won’t be plugging this feature on social media often, so it’ll be on you to remember! Sunday, November 26th: The “Holiday Film Fest” is one of my all-time favorite McDonald’s promotions, if only for the sheer implausibility of ordering a sealed VHS tape with your burger and fries. The promotion ran for a few years in the ‘90s, with different batches of bargain-priced videos each time. This sign is from the 1993 edition, which was my favorite ..read more

Dino Drac’s November Funpack is here, and I’m so excited about this one. The November pack is always one of my favorites to do, even if it’s probably the most labor-intensive box every year. A lot of work goes into these babies! It’s an extremely festive holiday-charged box, and if you’re a current subscriber, good news: You’re locked in! Subscriptions are currently closed, but I do have a small number of spares that I can sell on an individual basis. The price is $25, shipped anywhere in the United States.
