If you’re like me, you may be reading this less than a week away from your facial feminization surgery date thinking, “Oh shit, I’m actually not prepared at all.” In a race against time I messaged every post op FFS girly asking what products I should be adding to my cart on amazon.
Also quick side note, if you’ve been wanting to get your FFS covered by medicaid but don’t know where to start check out this article here!
Anyways, as I’m writing this I’m officially 5 and a half weeks post op. While parts of my FFS recovery were uncomfortable, these are the products I used that helped alleviate di ..read more

How do I transition? Where do I even start? These are the questions we often ask ourselves after we’ve begun to accepted our transgender identities.
Today I will be providing a step-by-step guide on how to transition MtF in the United States from the perspective of a trans woman living in New York.
Though the framework for transitioning in other states is pretty much the same. Aside from the states that have unfortunately banned gender affirming care. I will be writing a blog post soon discussing what transitioning may look like in these outlier states.
For now, what I know from my experience ..read more

Over the river and through the woods…
I’m happy that it’s almost spring, the weather was just warm enough for me not to hate my life while making the trek from Harlem to Ridgewood. Also the tunnel at 14th and 6th is finally open so you don’t have to above-ground transfer anymore. Thank. Fucking. God.
Upon my arrival with my pink rolly luggage and freshly curled hair that definitely started to fall, I call CTG ANGEL and let her know I’ve arrived at her apartment. She told me to call her because her buzzer doesn’t work.
She greets me at the door giving fresh faced, dewy, woman while still servin ..read more

With Cecilia’s passing just this month, it’s with a heavy heart that I write this article for Cool Trans Girl. While I did not know Cecilia on a personal level, I had often thought about the day that I would be able to interview her as one of the coolest trans girls in herstory. Not only that but be able to collaborate with her as Cool Trans Girl began to grow.
I feel like the least I could do is highlight the legacy she has left on the trans community. Not only that but talk about how we can honor her moving forward. This is the life and legacy of ..read more

This past week I admit has been very challenging for me. I made this blog to talk about mental health and better ways to cope with anxiety/depression as a trans woman. Hot girls have bad days too. There are days when the dysphoria kicks our ass, or when social anxiety makes it impossible to leave the house, or dark thoughts plague our mind.
I was just having one of those days. The night before I was feeling particularly stressed about some personal issues. I had turned to some old coping mechanisms to make myself feel better in the moment. But all it did (as always) was make me feel worst and ..read more

Our first CTG of the Month is a *and I cannot emphasize this enough* HIGHLY accomplished theater and film producer, talent manager, and queer rights advocate.

Vision Boarding & My Mental Health Journey
The narrative that society has written for trans women is an extremely bleak one, we’re taught that we should settle for scraps, shrink ourselves, and that our obstacles in life are far too great for us to overcome.
This narrative is a lie meant to make us feel small and keep us from being fully integrated into a society that revolves around cis people. As someone who actually believed this narrative earlier in my transition, I struggled with depression so much so that I often thought about ending my own life.
Which looking back was such a dark pe ..read more
