James Boulton’s artwork is often characterized by dense layering and energetic application of materials. He has exhibited sculpture, video, drawing, and most often painting in galleries, museums and artist-run spaces since the mid-1990’s. This will be the first time his work has been exhibited in the Pacific Northwest since the closure of Pulliam Gallery in 2013. Yesterday I was asked to recall an infamous moment in my musical history some 30+ years ago that involved a world famous band and my completely unknown band Calamity Jane.
