The DEA has officially confirmed that after a recommendation from an August 2023, that Cannabis will now be rescheduled to Schedule 3, from its current status in Schedule 1. This will be the first major change in the DEA in over 50 years.
Cannabis will now be considered to be in the same category as testosterone, anabolic steroids, and ketamine.
What this means is anyone’s guess. Rescheduling may allow Cannabis Businesses to begin taking federal tax deductions, which they are currently unable to do, due to 280E. Some critics say that this would also mean that dispensaries and cannabis busine ..read more

The Kentucky Medical Cannabis Program is meeting April 19th
Friday, April 19th, at 3 pm EST, the Kentucky Medical Cannabis will be meeting to discuss a legislative and regulatory update. They may be taking questions from the public, and it may be an opportunity for the public to weigh in on the newly established HB 829, and the changes it’s bringing.

Today April 12th, the Kentucky Senate Committee on State and Local Affairs passed HB 829 out of committee on an 8-1 vote. Bill Cosponsor Representative Jason Nemes testified alongside Senator Steven West for the bill.
The bill now will be brought to the senate floor for a full vote. While the bill awaits a vote, you can call your Senator at 1-800-372-7181 and ask them to vote No on HB 829.

Friday April 12th, the Kentucky Senate Committee on State and Local Government, will be meeting at 9 am in the Capitol Annex in Room 131 to discuss and vote on HB 829.
The bill has already passed in the house, with 2 readings on the senate floor already, and with the original House Sponsor Jason Nemes’ Father, Michael Nemes on the Senate Committee the bill has been assigned to, it is all but assured that the bill will pass.

Bluegrass Cannabis is going to be speaking at Western Kentucky University (WKU) at a public Cannabis Symposium on the new legal Cannabis landscape in Kentucky. The event is being put on by Toppers for Liberty and Kentucky Moms for Medical Cannabis this October!
Also attending the event will be Kentucky NORML, One Love Hemp Dispensary out of Bowling Green, veteran activists, former state representatives, and more!
