“Far away is far away only if you don’t go there.” O Povo Fortaleza, Brazil Welcome to dispatch four of our Alaska ride. And now we are four riders and Gpskevin on a support vehicle starting out from Prince George, Canada together. Three riders on Kawasaki Versys and one on a KTM 690. Two riders are named Roberto, one is Federico or as we are now referring to him as Freddy. Three riders started their journey in Mexico City approximately thirteen years ago. I wish I could do this story justice but, I don’t either have the time or the words. Let’s just say that all are finally glad to have made ..read more

Places Traveled Today: Miles Ridden: “Is there any need for me now to explain? I think you can guess why I’m now feeling like I am.” “No, I can’t. Well, first off, the yanquis took half of my country away in 1848. You can’t continue to keep moping over it.” “Well why not?” – Anonymous. Welcome to the first dispatch of our southern border motorcycle riding adventure. Let me begin by saying that this motorcycle ride was on, and then it was off again. https://www.gpskevinadventurerides.com/upcoming-rides/chiapas-tzotzil-23 The link above shares with you last year’s ride we took with gpskevin adve ..read more

A Motorcycle Ride to Mexico “We now live in a world where man has walked on the Moon. It’s not a miracle; we just decided to go” – Astronaut Jim Lovell (Gemini 7 and 12; Apollo 8 and 13). That quote above about sums it up about our recent ride throughout Mexico. From SoCal I went to Tucson and met up with my friend Dale. On a Sunday we crossed the border at Nogales and at Km 21 we processed our TIP then headed to Ciudad Obregon for the night. From there it was Mazatlan to Guanajuato, to Guadalajara, to Valle Bravo, Texoptlan, Oaxaca, Tlacotalpan, Veracruz, Xlititla and finally Monterrey before ..read more

The sun hasn’t risen yet but, we’re both ready for today’s Delta ride. Initially, Roberto wanted to launch at Coyote point (same as yesterday) and then head right instead of left towards our Delta destinations. I say to him; are you feeling extra adventurous today? Do you now know that the only thing now standing between us and the Delta are countless miles and miles of nothingness but boring water from here to there. “We should conserve our gas and drive up. What do you think?” Well, Mother Nature quickly intervened on my behalf and covered the entire San Francisco bay with a thick layer of f ..read more

Today is my train day and airport day for Ms. Patti. I know it’s corny but, I’m starting to hum the first verse now of … “All her bags are packed and she’s now ready to go……So kiss me you fool, and smile for me. “Tell me that you’ll wait for me Hold me like you’ll never let me go ‘Cause you’re leavin’ on a jet plane” Faro train station Oh babe, I hate for you to go …….” There’s still supposedly a motorcycle ride waiting for us following our Portuguese adventure travel. I now carry swim trunks and a toothbrush inside a preco mini grocery bag. I travel light when I need to. Yesterday on the uber ..read more

“A mis queridos amigos que me acompañaron por los caminos de Espana. No los olvidaré.” INTRODUCTION: Welcome to the 1st of a few promised Spanish (Spain) dispatches. Once again for the uninitiated, Webster describes the word “dispatch”, as in a way to send off or away with speed, a messenger, an email; or any official report, usually sent in haste. The dispatch you are now reading was hand pecked typed the old fashioned way; on a plain old iPhone smartphone. And when there’s suitable wifi around it’s quickly sent off giving no thoughts to grammatical mistakes and truths that know no limits. If ..read more

“This is the law of the Yukon, that only the strong shall thrive; That surely the weak will perish, and only the fit survive.” – Robert Service of the Yukon Welcome to possibly my last of a series of badly written dispatches about our ride around Alaska. In all honesty it’s not an easy task to ride all day and then attempt to do what I was attempting to do and without a laptop. I typed it all out in my iPhone. Impressive? Well, not nearly as impressive as to the way that I locked up my little Versys front brake and skidded to a halt just a few feet away from that moose that almost took me out ..read more
