Ep032 - Recap: Biden's lies in the State of The Union
The Homeless Conservative
by Blake Fischer
1M ago
President Biden delivered the State of the Union address last week, and went full-on partisan campaign speech with it. It was full of lies, half-truths, and legislatively impossible promises. He would be better off throwing a lucky penny in a fountain and making a wish for some of his agenda than getting it through a dysfunctional and hyper-polarized Congress. And the Republican response wasn't much better, thanks to the cringe-worthy performance put on by Sen. Katie Britt. And for all the talk about Biden's age and mental acuity, maybe we should take a look at Trump's recent incoherent rambl ..read more

Ep031 - Super Snooze-day: What's next for the GOP?
The Homeless Conservative
by Blake Fischer
1M ago
Normally political junkies like my neighbor Mackenzie and myself are glued to our TVs and Twitter (X, whatever) watching the coverage of Super Tuesday, but this year was...boring. We knew going into it Donald Trump and Joe Biden would ride their incumbency to easy victory. But what's next? Nikki Haley has exited the race, but will her voters show up for Trump in November, or will they remember that he and others have explicitly said anyone supporting her during the primary should be "permanently barred" from the party going forward? It's going to be an interesting rest of the year, we think ..read more

Follow The Homeless Conservative on Instragram and Youtube Note: Ep018 and Ep026 also covered the topic of sexual abuse by teachers, if you want some context for this episode's discussion In this episode, I delve deeper into the critical issue of child sexual abuse by teachers, joined by Amos Guiora, a respected law professor whose work sheds light on the institutional complicity and enabling culture that allows predatory teachers, coaches, preachers, and doctors to continue their abuse. Drawing parallels to the Holocaust, an experience deeply personal to him as both his parents were victims ..read more

Ep029- Tucker: Russia's useful idiot
The Homeless Conservative
by Blake Fischer
1M ago
Russia was all over the news this week. There was Tucker Carlson's interview with Putin, overshadowed by his propagandizing on behalf of the brutal dictator from grocery stores, subways, and fast food joints in Moscow. Then came the assassination of Putin's most outspoken critic, Alexei Navaldy, in the Siberian prison camp he was sentenced to die in for his criticisms. As if those weren't enough, we got Congress talking about Russian plans to fire nukes into space and take out commercial satellites. I dive into all that and why it's such a bummer the new Right has taken such a Putin-apologetic ..read more

Ep027 - Border Deal or No Deal
The Homeless Conservative
by Blake Fischer
1M ago
It was a particularly newsy week, so in this episode, Blake discusses the dead-on-arrival border deal, retaliation towards Iran proxies, and Trump not having immunity in his federal prosecution case. Will Republicans be blamed for claiming the border is a crisis and then refusing to even vote on a border deal? Is the border deal only dead because Trump said it should be, or are there legitimate concerns? Is Biden scared of anything more than potentially upsetting Iran? Let's talk about it! Ep024 - Ron DeSantis ends his campaign
The Homeless Conservative
by Blake Fischer

Ron DeSantis has suspended his campaign just days after the Iowa Caucus. So, it's officially (barely) a two-person race between Donald Trump and Nikki Haley. It seemed appropriate to talk about DeSantis' exit as voters go to the polls Tuesday in New Hampshire, so you get a bonus episode of the podcast this week. Ep023 - Did Iowa matter?
The Homeless Conservative
by Blake Fischer
1M ago
The Republican presidential primary voting officially kicked off in Iowa this week. And almost nothing was interesting about it. Trump won by a gigantic margin and I'd argue neither Nikki Haley or Ron DeSantis gathered any momentum heading to New Hampshire next week. Will anyone drop out? Will either DeSantis or Haley change their strategies to try and actually win the nomination? Or are they just trying to get 2nd place and run again in 2028? These are all questions I don't know the answer to, but let's talk about them anyway! 00:00 - Intro 00:55 - Who won the Iowa Caucus? 05:16 - Farewell (a ..read more

Ep021 - What to expect in 2024
The Homeless Conservative
by Blake Fischer
1M ago
Full disclosure - I suck at making predictions. Politics just has too many variables to possibly be very right about predictions made months or a year in advance. Or, at least that's what I tell myself. So this is less of a list of things I think will happen, and more a list of things I think will be important to pay attention to in 2024 leading up to the November elections. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/thehomelessconservative/message ..read more
