I would not have imagined at that time, I would have a segment on my local tv channel. Now’s lets do a bit of time travel (queue time travel music): I received an email inquiry in September of 2023 asking if I would be interested in being interviewed for the NH Chronicle, the local channel for WMUR. Absolutely! Although, I did let the repor ..read more

Graham Sutherland said, “In painting, you have to destroy in order to gain... you have got to sacrifice something you are quite pleased with in order to get something better. Of course, it's a risk.” If you want something great, you must sacrifice something good, yup even the really good. Merriam-Webster defined sacrifice as: “destruction or surrender of something for the sake of something else. Something given up or lost.” As an artist, I get to make the decision of what part of the painting becomes the sacrifice. The area I paint over, the line that missed its mark, the color that isn’t mak ..read more

I am learning how saying yes to one thing can lead to something else even more exciting! The Backstory: In April of 2022 I hung my collection The Color of Music in the exhibition hall of the Peterborough Town Library, in Peterborough New Hampshire. This show, in collaboration with my musician husband Chad, was the first one that showed paintings of my sound-color synesthesia. One evening during the summer my husband mentions, “Hey just in case you get an inquiry email, its not a scam.” and he proceeds to explain that he lobbed my information over to Old Blood Noise Endeavors because he saw an ..read more

As I have been reflecting over 2022 I have learned a few things in life and art. Community This is a hot keyword I’ve heard used a lot. It means “a feeling of fellowship ..read more

Saturday afternoon was a scheduled time for me to get away from the house and reset my heart and mind. I find I need these moments of solitude in the woods to recenter me. I normally bring my journal/sketchbook with me because I know I will have some thoughts and images I want to get out. I headed for an a local conservation area on a humid sunny afternoon. The nature walk started out fairly well. I took a trail I hadn't explored before and was about 1/2 mile in when I noticed that anytime I stopped to observe something on the trail I would get swarmed by mosquitos. "I'll just walk faster" I ..read more
