‘They Said it Couldn’t Be Done’ The intrepid trio take on yet another job that no one else would even give a quote for. Today we set off to Cornwall to do the impossible. A client contacted Kent Piano Movers asking if we would move a piano across a cliff top and take it down the side of the cliff face along a very small footpath to a holiday retreat not accessible by road. We do love a challenge! We asked to see videos of the route, and soon realised why no one wanted to quote on this move. The Piano was an almost new Yamaha U1 with not so much as a fingerprint on it, and it needed to travel ..read more

For one night only: Mr Jools Holland OBE We had the pleasure of moving the Kent Pianos: “Play with the Stars” Yamaha G2 White Grand piano for Mr Jools Holland OBE. Jools Holland attended a retirement service for Reverend Edward Wright of St Georges Church in Wrotham, Kent, the same church where Jools married his wife, Christabel, in 2005. Our dedicated team delivered the piano to the Venue on Saturday, allowing plenty of time for the piano to settle, ready for the performance on Sunday afternoon. I was introduced to Jools and Christabel and had an interesting and enjoyable discussion about our ..read more

Challenge accepted The Intrepid Trio were out again in the beautiful countryside of Kent. We had previously done a site visit for a client who needed a piano taken upstairs. With a low stairwell ceiling and a tight turn this job was not as straight forward as it seemed. Our client told us that no one else would take on the job. “Challenge accepted!” We called in a carpenter and had the banister removed, and there was our pathway for getting the piano onto the first floor: straight up. Mission completed The years of experience the Kent Piano Movers team have meant that this job was no match fo ..read more

At Kent Piano Movers we always like to take on a Challenge; our Christmas Party was no different. We went to the Lord Wargrave in London, recommended by YouTube sensation Kate Ovens. We ordered the meat platter which is supposed to be for 2-3 people, and the challenge was on! With a platter each and a countdown of “Three, Two, ‘They said it couldn’t be done’, Go! The staff there were excellent and we would highly recommend this establishment, I even managed to disgrace myself by guessing the age of our waitress wrong in epic style! I am not sure I am allowed back after that, trust the bo ..read more

Today we were lucky enough to be chosen to move a piano for the coveted and world famous Beefeaters of the Tower of London. After we had completed the vigorous security checks we were allowed inside The Tower and collected the piano from the officers quarters. To be a Beefeater, or ‘Yeoman Warder’ you have to have served at least 22 years in the armed forces, be a former warrant officer, and be awarded the ‘Long Service and Good Conduct’ medal. It was a huge honour to meet a Beefeater and be selected to do this job for The Tower. We had a fantastic day, and although we didn’t get to see the Cr ..read more

Today we relocated a piano I have been waiting to move for some time a £130,000 Bosendorfer Grand Piano the rare Strauss limited edition, it was an absolute beauty. The weather conditions were not great a cold icy day and the piano had to go across the top of a roof into its new Home, it was a tricky move as the roof was still in building site mode, its new location was a new build and was not yet fully completed. We had the Intrepid trio on the case and the job went smoothly the Piano was not the only high value item their new wood floor needed just as much care ..read more

Tight-rope disposal: a grand piano from a window
Kent Piano Movers Blog

Today we were in Kent where we had a grand piano disposal. That was originally put into the building it was in with a crane. Low ceilings, beams and a tight staircase meant that the piano was never coming out the front door. With the Kent Piano Movers equipment, we soon rigged up a secure ramp to get this 100-year-old piano safely out of the property. As you can see from the video, we demonstrate why so many people call us for those jobs that others just can’t do. Another Job completed by the: They Said It Couldn’t Be Done Team. More from ‘They Said it Couldn’t Be Done’ team We have a whole ..read more
