The KING’S Lynn Stars finally race into home action tonight (Thursday) when they face the Belle Vue Aces in the ROWE Motor Oil Premiership. The Stars have been the side worst-affected by the weather in the early weeks having only appeared in one meeting, which was a narrow five-point defeat at Leicester. Glasgow reserve Lee Complin has had his racing licence suspended by the Speedway Control Bureau after producing a non-negative result to a routine pre-meeting drugs and alcohol test. JAKE Allen and Nathan Ablitt took the honours as Scunthorpe opened their season with a 52-38 win over Redcar in the BSN Series. Ipswich Speedway legend John ‘Tiger’ Louis has passed away at the age of 82. The Ipswich-born rider joined the club in 1970 spending the majority of his career with the Witches and led the team to league and cup titles in the 70s. He became British champion in 1975 and on the world stage he finished third at Wembley Stadium in one of his four World Championship Finals. Nicknamed ‘Tiger’ for his iconic leathers, John also represented England in the World Team Cup, winning gold three times.
