If you have ever been in a long-distance relationship, you know the struggles that can arise when trying to make things work. Passion and commitment that once burned bright slowly began to dim the more time you spent apart. Slowly the desire to hear their voice on the phone or the excitement you had when they texted is not as strong as it once was. It is not that you stopped loving them, it is just that the fullness of your love for one another is not as easily expressed or experienced. For a time when they are gone, you keep them near and dear by looking at their social media page or texting ..read more

Going Deeper

Many believers desire to have a deeper intimacy with their Heavenly Father but are not sure how to do so. Today I want to discuss how we can get to know Him on a much deeper level. First, we must seek Him. The bible says “draw near to me and I will draw near to you (James 4:8), so when we seek Him, He will come. One way to seek Him is through prayer. Make time every day to be still and humble yourself in the quiet. Learn to sit in the stillness and listen for His voice. His voice is gentle and peaceful. If during our prayer time all we do is present Him with a laundry list of things we need, w ..read more

Everyone of us has planted a seed before, whether it was grass seed, vegetable, fruit or other we all know how seeds work. But did you know Jesus was a seed? Did you know that He came to this world to plant Himself so that others may grow? We all know that a seed isn’t the end result, its just a destiny in another form. We know that if we plant tomato seeds we will get a tomato plant. That one seed produces many after its kind. So if you plant one tomato seed, you get many tomatoes. I am certain that at some point in our lives we have had a membership to something, whether it be a club, a fitness center, an online shopping company, we have all paid to become a member of some institution. When we bought the membership we probably found out about all the perks once joining. After all, who doesn’t want to take full advantage of what we are paying for. So why do we often sell ourselves short in taking advantage of the perks when we join the Kingdom of God? When we say yes to Jesus and become born again, we are a new creation and are now born of the Spirit (2 Cor 5:17, John 3 ..read more

You have heard it said that blood is thicker than water, but what about the Spirit? Is the Spirit “thicker” than blood? The answer is yes. When the disciples told Jesus that his family wanted to speak to Him, His reply was, “who is my mother, and who are my brothers?” He then pointed to His disciples and said that they were His family (Matt 12:46-50). Throughout scripture there is discussion about the importance of family, but the spiritual family takes precedence over the natural family. The greatest commandment is to love the Lord with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength, and to also lov ..read more

Psalm 51 To the Chief Musician. A Psalm of David; when Nathan the prophet came to him after he had sinned with Bathsheba. 1HAVE MERCY upon me, O God, according to Your steadfast love; according to the multitude of Your tender mercy and loving-kindness blot out my transgressions. 2Wash me thoroughly [and repeatedly] from my iniquity and guilt and cleanse me and make me wholly pure from my sin! 3For I am conscious of my transgressions and I acknowledge them; my sin is ever before me. 4Against You, You only, have I sinned and done that which is evil in Your sight, so that You are justified in Yo ..read more
