We invite you to join us this year for the feast of our patron saint, the holy Great Matryr and Healer Panteleimon! We are pleased to announce that his Eminence Metropolitan Nicholas will return to preside for the feast. A Festal Vigil will be served on the evening of Thursday, August 8th at 6:30pm, and on the morning of Friday, August 9th, there will be a water blessing at 8am and a Hierarchal Divine Liturgy at 9am. With the help of God, the construction of the new monastery temple has continued to move along very well. Despite many delays, the beautiful green metal roofing is now nearly complete along the flat portions, with the metal shingling for the two domes slated to be installed next. In addition, after having literally spent years trying by various means to acquire the cupolas with crosses (which will sit atop the domes) from Eastern Europe, we have now received word that they too are nearly finished and should be shipped to us shortly. Holy Cross now offers those at home the opportunity to light candles (either on behalf of themselves or of others) by submitting a form online. We offers two sizes of candles, and the option to have them lit before icons of the Savior, the Port Arthur Mother of God, the Holy Great-Martyr and Healer Panteleimon, or else before the pannykhida on behalf of the departed. On Sunday, May 26 the brotherhood of Holy Cross Monastery celebrated the Feast of the Port Arthur Icon of the Triumph of the Theotokos, the monastery’s patronal icon of the Mother of God. The Theotokos has given much grace and bestowed many blessings on the brotherhood since the arrival of her Port Arthur Icon to the monastery in 2008.
