Living A Life Of Purpose - 7 Personal Growth Challenges To Grow As A Child Of God.
Faith, Fruit, Footsteps

Recently I began Living A Life Of Purpose by focusing on different personal growth challenges. My purpose is to grow as a child of God and light in the world, so I created these seven specific-to-me goals that I wanted to pursue. They may not seem difficult to others, or very challenging, but they are meaningful to me. The real challenge will be in continuing them throughout my life, thus continuing my growth. 1. Living A Life Of Purpose Challenge: SAYING THANK YOU! Being thankful, for me, is not the challenge so much as is remembering to say it. LOL. I am honestly so very thankful and g ..read more

Bearing God's Image: Lesson 1 from the series, Future Leaders of the Church, by Dennis and Nina Roofe. Genesis 1: 26-27: 26 Then God said, Let Us make mankind in Our image, according to Our likeness; and let them rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over the livestock and over all the earth, and over every crawling thing that crawls on the earth. 27 So God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. Religious Holidays - Having All The Fun With None Of The Honoring
Faith, Fruit, Footsteps

This is a post I first wrote on Facebook... I am willing to share something that gets my dander up because I think it's important - the people who celebrate Easter and Christmas with dinners and family gatherings, games, chocolate, plastic eggs, milk, and cookies, dress up as Santa and a bunny when they can't be bothered to remember Jesus and worship their God. Jesus was born, died, and rose and is commanded to be remembered every single first day of the week (Sunday). But most will absolutely refuse to do that. (Or will only go on Easter or Christmas.) Why then are you doing anything else? D ..read more

Why Be A Star Player When You Can Be A Benchwarmer?
Faith, Fruit, Footsteps

Back in the day, I played some sports. I was a cheerleader and volleyball player. Okay, so the phrase "I played" is open for debate. Lol. In truth, I was terrible! Really! I was a so-so cheerleader and as for volleyball... well, I was terrified of those girls who would jump up and slam the ball down over the net into your face, so I didn't care for that sport. In the end, what I became, was a benchwarmer! Yay, a benchwarmer. What every player dreams of, right? Little did I know, though, that it would become my legacy. Now, don't get me wrong... I am not having a pity party over this. I've had ..read more

We Are More Than Conquerors
Faith, Fruit, Footsteps

"In all these things we are more than conquerors through Him that loved us." Romans 8:37 (KJV) This is one of my favorite statements in the Bible! What a powerful statement! Each word has its own strength and weight behind it. It truly states that no one can defeat us! Doesn't that make you stand taller? It does me! Let's take a closer look... If we want to know who and what we are conquerors of, we have to back up a bit to verse 31 where it says, "If God be for us, who can be against us?" First, let's talk about the WHO. Who is against us can seem numerous at times. They are the media, false ..read more

Enjoying Life At 50-Something! Living In The Moment
Faith, Fruit, Footsteps

There are so many directions I could take this subject in, such as sharing that 50-something is not the "old" I once thought it was to talking about all the new grandbabies that have come along by now or knowing myself better at this stage, but I'm honestly not very interested in any of that at the moment. I'm, actually, more interested in the spiritual side of this. For me, my faith is my life. I am no longer that lost little girl I once was who was trying to find herself while navigating through a big world she didn't know much about. You know, like most of us were at one time or another. Conversation Starters For Teenage Grandchildren
Faith, Fruit, Footsteps

Right now my grandchildren are still young and far from being teenagers. The time will come soon enough, though, when we will get to pick their brains and have more meaningful conversations. Oh, I can't wait!! For now, I would simply like to get a leg up and prepare some ideas to have on hand (just in case my mind starts to go - you know how it is). If you would like to use any of these conversation starters with your own grandchild(ren), please feel free to help yourself. And, if you have any you'd like to suggest, please add them in the comments below. I'd love to hear them! I'd like to sug ..read more

I Love The Patriotism In Branson, Missouri
Faith, Fruit, Footsteps

It's Veterans Day week 2023, and as we did the past 3 or 4 years, we went up to Branson, Missouri (which is only 30 minutes or so away) to celebrate with visiting family to see the Clay Cooper show. As usual, it was a great show! We stay for the whole thing which is usually about 5-6 hours long, but that includes one show, then a small meal (snack), then another show. Some just go to one or the other as they go to other shows as well. Each year Clay Cooper changes it up a bit, and this year he did also. In addition to the regular acts and singers, there was also a pony pulling a sleigh, a com ..read more

A Celebration Of Blessings!
Faith, Fruit, Footsteps

In any given year, month, or week there will inevitably be something worth celebrating. There are so many reasons to be thankful! This past weekend held the most recent opportunity for my family. We had 3 birthdays to celebrate and all 3 of my sons and their families came together to do just that. I'm sure if you've ever tried getting your adult children together at one time, you'll understand how challenging that can be. But we did it, and it was WONDERFUL!! Every story we rehashed, every new milestone the kids showed off, and every moment I took soaking it all in was a blessing for me. It w ..read more

Dessert For Two A Poem By Tammy Snyder In carefree habit she pulls taught her silver hair, The combs stuck in snug before, with a pleased pat, she turns. Another day has begun and it's time, she decides, To make her acquaintance, again, with the Lord up on high.
