We are going to take some time to take a look at the parallel between 1 Corinthians 13, the Love Chapter and Matthew 5, the Beatitudes. There is some very interesting alignment here. Clearly the Bible says that we, as followers of Christ, will be known by our love, not our strong opinions about our deep convictions. We should have strong opinions about our deep convictions, but the Bible says we are to be known by our love. Do not confuse meekness for weakness because it is not! Meekness is incredibly strong because it is conviction and passion that has been brought under control for the Maste ..read more

Proverbs 21:20 There is precious treasure and oil in the house of the wise [who prepare for the future], But a short-sighted and foolish man swallows it up and wastes it. AMP The Bible teaches us to plan diligently and to work hard rather and avoid get-rich-quick schemes. This involves creating a budget, saving regularly, and living below our means.  Live in a modest home inviting God’s help to find the right place and a great deal for your family! Drive a modest car. Wear modest clothing.  Studies show that the majority of Americans spend $11-20 on Starbucks per week. Imagine how m ..read more

Proverbs 15:6 Great and priceless treasure is in the house of the [consistently] righteous one [who seeks godly instruction and grows in wisdom], But trouble is in the income of the wicked one [who rejects the laws of God]. AMP Money without wisdom is trouble. This is why I don’t want my children to get my valuables before they get my values. Shaquille O’Neal reportedly has a net worth of $500m, “It takes two degrees to touch the cheese.” Having financial resources without having financial wisdom produces chaos. Michael Jackson made over a billion dollars as the King of Pop. I was amazed to f ..read more

In the same way we point to David as the Author of Psalms we also point to Solomon as the Author of Proverbs. There are multiple authors discovered in both books, but the main authors are David and Solomon. The book of Proverbs is about principles more than promises.  Proverbs 25:17 Don’t visit your neighbors too often, or you will wear out your welcome. NLT The principles of Proverbs instruct people in the path of wisdom. As you read Proverbs you observe the personification of wisdom and folly as two women that are juxtaposed against each other to help us see the benefit of applying tho ..read more

Jesus came introducing God’s right-side up Kingdom to a fallen, broken world. In this Kingdom selfishness is replaced with selflessness, hate is met with kindness, hurt is met with forgiveness and the needs of those around us are truly our concern.  The Fall turned everything upside down as man’s desires began trying to take God’s throne. In an upside-down world, we easily lose sight of things that truly matter chasing our potential rather than our call. We must grow in discernment our ambition will outrun our anointing. Opportunities are distractions if they’re not assignments and fruit ..read more
