February 6, 2023
On February 6, 2023, at 4:19 am, a 7.8-magnitude earthquake hit southern Turkey and northern Syria, killing more than 50,000 people and destroying entire cities.
On February 6, 2023, at 12:30 am, Erkin, an All Nations missionary, was praying and meditating on Jesus in the quiet of his living room in Istanbul. He suddenly sensed God speaking, saying, “I’m going to shake this country.” He was surprised and started asking God questions about where and how. He felt God say, “I’m going to shake this country and it will bring a revival.”
Suffering of many

This is the next chapter of Ruth’s story (see Part 1 here) – and how her story touched many others.
Ruth’s Escape
We left Ruth in a detention center, calling the only person she thought could help her: Alexa, the All Nations missionary who had shown her kindness.
Alexa agreed to help. She learned that Ruth had overstayed her work permit, so the main thing she needed was money to get home. Even if Ruth had been cleared from wrongdoing and served her sentence, she would not be released from prison if she didn’t have money for a ticket home.
Some friends of Alexa raised the funds to purc ..read more

To say the odds were stacked against Ruth is a huge understatement. She was about to be locked up again, and felt completely invisible and without hope or help.
We share this story today, Giving Tuesday, to ask you to give so neglected, hidden people like Ruth will be seen in their physical and spiritual suffering, and introduced to Jesus. Give today.
The backstory
Just six months earlier, Ruth had allowed herself to hope. She heard about an agency that promised her good work and a salary in the Middle East. She was unable to provide for her kids after her abusive husband left her at ..read more

“What is that thing I see over my bed, holding me down?”
Kinan* felt alone once again. Discouraged. Stuck – literally. He knew spiritual beings were real – he’d seen dark creatures in his home growing up. But now he knew Jesus, and he was sure Jesus was more powerful. So why see this creature now? Why couldn’t he make himself get out of bed? Why was he so depressed?
He forced himself to get up, eventually. Thank God for his delivery job and that he could set his own schedule. But even today, he’d be later with the deliveries than he wanted. He felt the lingering fear and discouragement as he w ..read more

All the other missionaries-in-training sitting around Jenny looked so comfortable in their own shoes. So why didn’t she?
Jenny* was 35 and planning to move to live among a Muslim people group in Southeast Asia with her family as missionaries. The whole family was in the car, driving to get trained by All Nations before they left. It was cold enough that she was forced to wear socks and shoes on the drive. She loved flip flops, and looked forward to getting to wear them year-round in Asia.
As they drove, she noticed a thought of self-hatred rolling through her mind. She sighed. No matter how fr ..read more

A Tool for Humility
Language learning is an active tool God uses to humble us before we are able to communicate the gospel.
God created multiple languages after the tower o ..read more

Carmen, an All Nations missionary, shares her journey of faith, prayer, and healing with Farsi believers. You will also find ways to pray, get involved, and get trained in prayer below!
—
I listened as I heard 15 Farsi believers saying they didn’t believe God actually healed the beggar through Peter in Acts 3. But I also hear God saying, “Ask Me to heal.” So I did.
Let me back up. My husband and I have known the whole time we’ve been here in Germany that God was inviting us to start praying for healing with more intention.
We really started asking others to pray for God to open doors to do tha ..read more

When we make disciples, we want them to be people who obey Jesus’ commands. With 684 commands in the New Testament, where do we start? We have summarized all of these commands into these seven basic commands:
ONE: Repent, Believe, and Receive the Holy Spirit
What does it look like to help new believers repent? And how do we help them to receive Holy Spirit and operate in his anointing? Acts 2:38 says, “Reconsider your lives; change your direction. Then your sins will be forgiven, and the gift of the Holy Spirit will be yours.” These are important questions and one scripture we ..read more
