Whether your child is exempt from compulsory attendance as a traditional homeschooler under exemption (c) or is using Hope Scholarship’s Individualized Instructional Program under exemption (m), you are required to instruct and assess your child every year in math, reading, language, social studies, and science. This doesn’t mean they aren’t required to assess in the other years, it simply means they aren’t required to submit them. Hope Scholars using IIP to educate at home a ..read more

My three children recently qualified for the Hope Scholarship through attending a virtual charter for 45 days, plus the time it took to become approved. In all, it took 58 days. While in the long run I believe it will be worth it, it was a challenging nearly two months. All three of my learners are elementary school aged. We are a neurodiverse family with a heaping dose of dyslexia in the mix. My kids are bright, creative, imaginative, and gifted. I knew this process would be challenging for them, but I believed that with my support, we could work through the challenges and then use the Hope S ..read more

The expansion of options ushered in incredible opportunity. And along with it came confusion and overw ..read more
