Fine jewellery may be a thing of the past as small businesses and entrepreneurs (like myself!) break into the market finally offering jewellery at accessible prices to normalise wearing beautiful gold pieces for everyday.   Fine Jewellery shops can offer pieces at close to the same price points as costume and demi-fine jewellery thanks to the direct-to-consumer model. But to answer the burning question.... what’s the difference between the two?   Difference between demi-fine and fine jewellery Affordable fine jewellery shops are ones that sell multiple  ..read more

Gold Plated vs Solid Gold

14k Gold-Plated Gold-plated is a thin layer of real gold coated over a piece of solid silver or brass. Gold-plated does eventually wear off revealing the color underneath. Earrings and necklaces will keep their plating longer than rings because they have less contact with skin. Plating will wear off more quickly on things that are worn everyday. It is recommended that you take off your plated jewelry when doing things like showering, swimming or applying lotions. Solid Gold Solid gold is an alloy composition made of gold and durable metals like zinc, nickel, silver and copper along with rho ..read more

Next up...ZION BABY!! When we booked our van, the owner John highly suggested we camp in Zion National Park but that you usually have to book it 6 months in advance.  Surprisingly (and probably again due to Covid) Mike was able to book two back to back nights only 3-4 weeks in advance which we were so stoked about.  You also have to book shuttle tickets to get to a lot of the trails which are in hour blocks and are released every two weeks.  It's basically like buying concert tickets and as luck would have it we were able to book everything with no problem.  The camp we sta ..read more

I wanted to write a post about this quickly before I forget any of the details because I had a LOT of requests for our itinerary! Originally, Mike and I were supposed to go on a Euro trip with both of our parents starting Labor Day Weekend that we were so excited about.  We had it all planned out to start in Porto, Portugal, then stay at Mike's family house in Usago, Italy, then Mike and I were going to branch off and finish our trip in Greece. We held onto every last bit of faith that we had for this trip to still happen until the very last minute when the flights started to ca ..read more

I hope you did yourself and favor and clicked the link to see what that Hello Kitty plane looked like, because I felt like I was in the twilight zone...and loved it. Anyway, now to Vietnam! I really didn't know what to expect there I just heard it's beautiful. Both of us had been to Thailand before and kind of just thought it would be similar to that.  BOY was I wrong.  As soon as we landed we fell in love with the chaotic streets of Hanoi.  Don't get me wrong, I love Thailand, but this just had a different feel to it.  The streets were just as ..read more

I can't believe it's been a year since we last traveled this amazing trip.  Again, I am NOT a writer, but I do think it's super helpful to share your experience when you can and to give credit to the amazing restaurants and hotels so others can hopefully enjoy them! I'd do ANYthing to travel again.  I swear I will never take getting on a plane and going on a vacation to anywhere for granted again! With that being said, let's take a little trip down memory lane to pretend like we can once again travel this beautiful world... FIRST STOP: TOKYO, JAPAN We did the traditional leave-i ..read more

Yep, call us spoiled, or call us lucky to have friends from the most amazing parts of the world.  Mike and I were SO happy to have an excuse to go to Italy the second summer in a row.  This time, it was for our friends, Ric and Lucia's, wedding in the beautiful Cinque Terre which is near where Lucia grew up.  Mike had the brilliant idea to make a pitstop in Sweden on our way over to visit my good friend Pia who just recently had her second baby as well as one of Mikes friends who lives in Denmark...2 birds 1 stone! As I've said before, I'm a terrible writer, so this will mostl ..read more

We fly back to Sydney and Mikes angel of a mother had decorated their living room with balloons and a huge spread of food to celebrate.  It was also his parents anniversary so there were multiple reasons to break out the champagne.  Side note:  If you get engaged, I hope you like champange, because you will be drinking that, and only that, for about a month straight. Side side note: (we don't like champagne).  His whole family was there including his two brothers and sister-in-law and we ate a gorgeous meal and hung around the table for hours. <3 After a full ev ..read more
