This month was our thirteenth year of full-time travel and a year of reunions! After more than two years away from our families and friends across the world, we made a point of going to see them all. Of course, we did manage to slip in some side trips to some new locations too… Las Vegas! We began our thirteenth year as Digital Nomads in Vegas! We splurged on a night at the Bellagio, spent the afternoon drinking ridiculously huge cocktails in the pool, and enjoyed their awe-inspiring fountain shows from our room. Porto Selvaggio is one of the most popular beaches on the Salento Peninsula of Puglia. It’s very different from the long stretches of white sand that the region is known for. Porto Selvaggio Beach is part of the nature reserve, Parco Naturale Regionale di Porto Selvaggio. To reach the rocky beach and crystal clear sea, you have to walk through the pine forest. This area is much less developed than most of the Salento coastline with no lidos (beach clubs) and minimal facilities. It’s perfect if you want to enjoy a beach in a more natural setting and swim, snorkel, kayak, and hike. In this post ..read more

Castro is one of the prettiest seaside towns in the Italian region of Puglia. Located on the Adriatic Coast, it’s a town of two parts. Castro Marina is a rocky bay of crystalline blue-green sea that attracts sunbathers and swimmers in summer. On the hilltop above, the walled Castro old town features a 16th-century castle, Byzantine church, and clifftop piazza with stunning sea views. Its rich history dates back to before the Romans, who named it Castrum Minervae. Castro is a quieter alternative to the popular Salento coastal towns of Gallipoli and Otranto. Even in August peak season, we found ..read more

It’s also home to Lecce, a city of golden baroque architecture that’s one of the most stunning in Italy. We’ve visited Salento many times including most recently for a month-long summer stay. Can you visit Zion National Park in winter? Yes, you can! This stunning Utah park stays open year-round, and there are several advantages to visiting in the colder months. Most importantly, there are far fewer people around. We absolutely loved our trip to Zion in February. We were blown away by the incredible scenery—soaring red rock cliffs, lush hanging gardens, narrow canyons, and expansive vistas. We hiked through a river, got up close to frozen waterfalls, and admired Zion Canyon from every angle—squeezing through its narrowest sections and admiring it from 1000 feet above. Its compact size makes it easy to visit Bryce Canyon in one day. Even with half a day, you’ll be able to admire the magical hoodoos (twisty spires of rock) from various viewpoints above and take a hike among them in Bryce Amphitheatre.
