Last Sunday, we saw David at one of his lowest points in the story. He was doubting, fearful, and deceitful. But this week, we see what happens when David turns back to God. But in contrast, we see in Saul just how far someone can fall from grace. In this chapter, David and Saul become an antichrist and a messiah figure. So many of us look to David as a hero of the faith. And rightfully so. His victory over Goliath alone is enough to earn him that recognition. But what do we do when our heroes fall? We continue our Easter Sermon Series with "The God Who Serves." One of the most amazing things about Jesus is that He chose to be a servant to those around Him. He could easily have called on his power and authority as the Son of God and forced those around him to serve Him, yet He chose to set a different example for us.
