What’s Going On? Earthing or Grounding Earthing (or Grounding) is the practice of putting your bare feet or other body parts in contact with the earth for the purpose of shedding unwanted electrical particles and taking in electrons from the earth itself. The Practice is said to help lower inflammation. Check the out the recap video for the Israel United In Christ Stop the Violence Youth Summit, which took place on Saturday April 6, 2024. I always see these brothers out engaging with the community near the car wash on Parkway and Zenith. They have a confrontational style of proselytizing which reflects their conviction and devotion to Jesus the Christ, who was also said to be an “austere” man. On Saturday March 30th, Mr. Nugent and I had the opportunity to sit down with Mrs. Anne Crowder. Mrs. Crowder was recently honored during Patterson Library’s Women’s History Month Celebration. She grew up in Lubbock from an early age, and her oral history interview touches on how East Lubbock used to be a haven for black businesses, including her family’s own cafe. Mrs. Crowder also talks about attending Tech when it was still not accepting of black students, and some of the discrimination she experienced in those days. This is a public episode.
