“Dr. Rhina Fernandes Williams' class was one that pushed me out of my comfort zone. We held a variety of discussions based on our readings and class work, which included topics such as inequalities, how culture and education interact, educational policy and critical pedagogy. Sharing my thoughts with my peers was something I have always had a hard time with, but Dr. Williams was able to cultivate an environment where I felt extremely comfortable in doing so. She is a professor I will never forget because I always knew that she genuinely believed in and cared for me. If anyone ever has her as a ..read more

“The course materials we have engaged with in Dr. Kristina Brezicha's class are both academically and emotionally challenging. However, she successfully created a safe community space for the eight of us to critique, reflect, laugh and sigh together. With Dr. Brezicha's guidance and leadership, we feel closer to each other as ‘academic accountability buddies’ (in Dr. Brezicha's words) and emotional supporters.” -Hongjjie Guan, educational policy studies doctoral student ..read more
