Did I take this photo for the glorious blossom or because I’m quite proud of parallel parking Alex’s truck on Main St? ??????????????????It’s a bit of both.

I was looking up books about influencers on my Libby app to borrow from my local library and found this book. By the end of the first chapter, I had ordered the physical book because I was finding it so interesting and knew it was one to add to my collection. The book explains some stuff around the industry from the point of view of British influencers, and the author went so far as to do things like going to “stan” and “snarker” events, enrolling in an online influencer bootcamp and actually putting the lessons to work on her IG account. Too often, articles and books about the influencer ind ..read more

If you’ve been anywhere near Tiktok or Instagram over the last few years, you probably know that the 40oz Stanley Quencher tumbler is *the* cup to have. I resisted for a while because we have so many Yeti tumblers (if yo ..read more

New (to us) favourite sushi place in Bellevue – @kurasushi_usa. It’s like Yo! Sushi back home with the conveyor belt, but so much better with a screen to order from, an automated delivery service (second belt above the main one that brings your request out and of course the drinks robots) and instead of stacking the plates high, you drop them in a chute and after you’ve dropped in 15 plates, you get a toy. It’s become a fun Friday treat for us, because it’s always good to accidentally soosh.

Dydd G?yl Dewi Hapus! March 1st is the patron saint of Wales’ day, St David, and I figured it was about time I shared my recipe for Welsh Cakes because honestly, they’re so easy to make and they’re SO good. Back when we lived in the UK, I was too lazy to make them myself, and when M&S does a snack pack of tiny cakes then why would you bother? Now, it’s a little more difficult than it really should be and I have to actually think about what is plain flour over here. (This June marks 6 years since we moved from the UK and I still find myself googling things like “what are spring onions” (sc ..read more

March is always the time of year that I think about blogging more, since it’s when I started on this journey many years ago. (It does scare me a bit when I think about how my blog life is old enough to drink in the US.)
This year, we’ve seen people shutting down their blogs/websites to focus on other platforms or just to get off social media altogether, but we’ve also seen people advocating for a return to blogging (off the top of my head, I’ve seen posts by @carly and on @verge, but if you know of others, I would love to read!). We’ve also seen in recent months what a clusterfuck social medi ..read more

??? My husband takes ice very seriously, and so does Ginny ?
When we were negotiating to buy our house from the builder, we asked for an ice maker to be installed. The builder offered an ice maker from their preferred brand, and this started a collection of emails about the right kind of ice for cocktails, which is why we have a nugget ice maker. (It’s pretty great, although it’s terrible to clean!)
But! The ice maker and the one in the fridge/freezer did not create clear ice, or big chunky cubes, so Alex has been looking for a way to make them in a large amount. He found the @ghostice ..read more

That doesn’t even look right. 2023 isn’t a year, it’s some time off in the future.
2022 was actually fairly good, we went on holiday to two different places, we started actually doing stuff to the house (I have been learning about how to patch holes in walls, how to repair the damage I caused when I flooded the house and how to use the 3D printer to make things! We have owned the printer since way before we even considered moving to the US, but never used it because we didn’t have a Windows PC to run it from), we had people come to stay and there were only a couple of trips to the ER room (alt ..read more

In 2022, I couldn’t even get myself to post 9 unique images to the grid again. It’s not that I don’t like posting, but I am still working on getting over the fear of putting something out there more permanently than a Story. I mean, I still haven’t posted anything about when we went to Bend, OR (and of course visited the last Blockbuster) or when we went to Vegas (no gambling but there was sun, shows and a damn big dam). 2022 wasn’t a terrible year, but it still feels like I’m climbing out of an uncertainty hole about posting things online and I’m not even sure where that came from!

A new blog post and a new Instagram post? What is happening?
On ceriselle.org today, I’ve been having a blab about blogging and twitter and something I called internet permanence which I don’t even know if that’s a thing but do you ever think about what happens with all your social media posts if the social media site goes away? Feels like a waste of things you spend time creating but what can do you about it? idk.
