I ride mountain bikes. I get to the top of mountains by various means.....
Good old fashioned pedalling, Hike a bike, E-bike, Self shuttle, shuttle bus, gondola, chair lift, heli drop oh fark yes.......... I don't care how i get there.

Is it just a weight issue? I have close to 10k on the B17 on my commuter and it feels like an heirloom piece that will outlive me. I love knowing that it has been shaped to my butt over the years and feels like a crucial piece connecting me to the bike. I have no problem with any of the current saddles on my mountain bikes, but wonder why this isn't commonly done ..read more

Loved the idea of T-shirts with an "I am the motor" logo https://www.mtbr.com/threads/who-sells-i-am-the-motor-t-shirts.1230720. There are jerseys with " I am the engine", https://www.amazon.com/Customized-Cycling-Jersey-Short-Sleeve/dp/B0CP25CG5G?th=1&psc=1, wish there was one with a MTB on it.
Because, sure, people can do whatever they want, but the industry and its megaphones are really loosing track of what bicycling is about. The photo below is from Enduro...

Tan walls. Are they a thing again? Did I miss a meeting? I remember them from the 80s maybe? Maybe it's a British thing? I'm a member of the Nukeproof Scout Riders Group on FB, all the British dudes are hunting for tan walls. No shade, just curious. They look more "nostalgic" to me than offensive in any way.
Side note. I guess if you don't ride in the mud, you don't ride in GB? We're constantly reminded not to ride muddy trails, they throw on the fenders and give it hell ..read more

The last two years my brother and I rode ten trails in Arkansas, rode all over the southeast the four years before that. He's in NM, I'm in TN. Trying to start planning a vacation for next year, I want to head out west, he'll drive and I'll fly, either to his place or near our destination. We're mostly green and blue riders with a speck of black. He's acclimated to altitude, I'm not, but I've ridden close to the heavens many times. If we ride out west, I will probably fly out and rent a...

Planning to buy my first MTB. I'm here for the community, and the knowledge I expect to gain from it.
I've been down the MTB rabbit hole over the last couple of weeks and my head is about to explode because I'm trying to source the following bike with a $500-750 budget:
1. Aluminum hardtail frame
2. 29" tires (tubeless)
3. Thru axels (front & back)
4. dropper seat post
5. Air suspension fork (at least 100mm travel w/lock)
6. Disc (or hydraulic) brakes (are they one and the same or disc...

So the easiest DIY is AMS but it's thickness and honeycomb structure tends to make it obvious and stand out from a distance. What are you using? How long/diffilcult to aplly? Any pics to show it would be nice.

So I’ve often wondered this question. I know it differs geographically speaking but which discipline take the most and rewards the most fitness? I ride mtb and gravel so definitely have a feel for both. I know I start sweating and working a little more early on riding mtb and it’s definitely more dynamic than road and gravel but not as much pedaling obviously on a downhill section. Where as road/gravel you can potentially pedal the whole time. It’s definitely a different experience and work...

This is one thing that worries me. When I used to ride back in the 90's I didn't have diabetes so I never had to worry about it. Now I'm worried about my blood sugar levels dropping too far during the ride. I'm curious to hear what you all do to monitor and prevent this on hard rides. Foods, diets, etc ..read more
