The Val-de-Grâce Abbey, once a royal abbey, became a military hospital and medical school post-French Revolution. It is now being transformed into a research campus for digital health, with plans to open its grounds as a public park in 2026. The historical Val-de-Grâce Museum and the abbey’s Baroque church, damaged in a 2023 explosion, remain open for public exploration.
