I'm trying to transfer a 25GB file to my USB drive, but I'm not seeing any progress bar indicating how long it will take. Unlike Windows, which used to show the estimated time remaining for a transfer, I'm not getting any feedback. Is there a program that can display this information during file transfers? or how do you guys go about it ..read more

The reboot was working like a charm but since few days ago if I reboot it doesn't work. The actual result is it's going to reboot shut down services according to logs it even turn off the screen but the power led indicator remains active and nothing happened. I mean, it doesn't turn on the laptop even after 90 seconds. I have to hold power button to turn it off and then power on the laptop. I did not do any configs I assume it's some package was updated and issued a bug. Here is a pacman logs https://0x0.st/XHMT.txt Here is a reboot logs https://0x0.st/XHMB.txt ..read more

I have hybrid graphics setup (integrated Intel and dedicated nvidia). I use hyprland which runs on integrated graphics. Also, have installed nvidia drivers which works fine (i use nvidia only for deep learning tasks). The problem is I couldn't use secondary monitor with hyprland running on integrated graphics. It looks like the HDMI is binded to nvidia drivers. It works only on the following scenario - Run hyprland on nvidia - Remove nvidia drivers How to make HDMI output work with hyperland running on integrated graphics ..read more

Hi all, latest MariaDB (11.3.2). I'm not using it from months, so that issue may very well be much older. How packages on AUR are imported?

Ususally the former contributors are listed on top of the PKGBUILD in the Maintainers/Contributors comments. Its not always easy to preserve history since we enforce certain rules for repositories, which is also the case for new repositories so far: https://gitlab.archlinux.org/archlinux/ … /issues/17 Disabling the afforementioned rules needs DevOps powers and also people are used to still import without history from the SVN times. Microphone not working, ALSA

My microphone has stopped working--no update or obvious change preceded this (though I did system upgrade when trying to fix it). "arecord --duration=2 --format=dat test-mic.wav; aplay test-mic.wav" just plays static, but the sound is working elsewhere. I've already added the kernel module parameter specified in the wiki: >> cat /etc/modprobe.d/snd-hda-intel.conf options snd-hda-intel enable_msi=1 and "alsamixer --view=capture" looks alright to me. https://postimg.cc/NyS9MFG2 Also, the amixer command to unmute the microphone gives a correct-looking output. >> amixer sset Captu ..read more
