Blindness is a spectrum. Many people with sight loss use what aids help and suit them. Some choose not to use a cane, others use just a symbol cane or a cane for mobility, guide dog etc, All sight loss is different, even the same condition can vary in progression between people. Sawyer said to me earlier when I was lying in his bed whilst he fell asleep “we can laugh can’t we mummy”, as he giggled about another little joke he had been telling me. I can’t put into words how grateful I am for these little moments of joy at the moment. He will never know how much they are needed and how much they help me I hope so much that the difficulties of life never steal his sunshine and I will try my hardest to protect him from the rain as much as I can xx Katie and Sawyer in winter clothes, sitting on a log in the woods. Katie is smiling at Sawyer and he is looking forward and ..read more
