As the saying goes "Eventually everything gets old enough it becomes collectible" In the case of the much criticized Pontiac Fiero that proves to be true. Launched in 1983 as an econo commuter car the Fiero proved to be much better than its's off the shelf gaggle of GM X-Car and Chevy Citation parts. Designed by George Milidrag and Hulki Aldikacti as a sports car. GM didn't want to market it that way in fear a plastic bodied sports car would steal some thunder from the Flagship Corvette. With a new Oil Crisis looming the GM Beancounters seen an opportunity to market the Mid Engine Smallish c ..read more

Something odd happened to the big classic Land Barge known as the American Station Wagon the last few years. It became collectible. For alot of reasons. The first being very few have survived. Another reason these are more scarce than Al Gore at a Monster Truck Show was when OPEC shut the gas off in the early 1970′s these Gas Hogs became scrap iron becuase very few people could afford to feed an 8mpg Road Torpedo. With all of that many have still survived. Many car collectors like having a Big Ole Wagon in their ..read more

From the start in 1963 the Buick Riviera was a special car. The brain storm of GM design head Bill Mitchell the Riviera was Buick’s first Personal Luxury Car. Through out the 1960′s and into the early 1970′s the Riviera kept true to its mission. By the early 1970′s Bill Mitchell wanted to make the 1971 Riviera stand out from the crowd. Under the direction of Mitchell GM stylist Jerry Hirshberg grafted the back of a 1964 Corvette to a full size Buick. At first the GM bean counters dismissed the design as too radical. But Mitchell had the power and clout to push the rakish design to the showro ..read more

If you were a young man in the mid 1970′s you lusted for a black and gold 1977 Pontiac Trans Am like the one The Bandit aka Burt Reynolds drove in Smokey and The Bandit. No small part of your youthful desire was that the Bandit was being chased by “Smokey” aka Jackie Gleason thru southern states. The Bandit was blocking for a tractor trailer load of illegal Coors beer. The Bandit would jump rivers and smoke his tires from state to state. In the end winning the bet and the heart of Frog aka Sally Field. By 1977 the Pontiac Trans Am was one of the last American Muscle cars..sort of. Even in B ..read more
