After a long, hard year, we are all in need of a little Christmas cheer. We continued our annual tradition this year by decking out Harrison Poultry in festive lights for all of our employees, customers and community to enjoy! Camp Amplify is a 100% scholarship-based summer camp in East Tennessee. The camp launched in 2018 and their goal this year was to host 150 campers and fill 25 cabins. Camp Amplify serves underprivileged youth, 8-12 years old, in the community, by treating them to a week of fun and spiritual discovery. Each year Camp Amplify relies on funding from personal and corporate sponsors to sponsor individual campers, provide camp kits with toiletry items and to “Fill-A-Cabin” which supplies the funding for six campers and two counselors. The R. Harold and Patsy Harrison Foundation has recently shared that they have pledged to donate over $2.6 million to establish a Distinguished Professorship in poultry science at the University of Georgia. This donation is in addition to a pledge made earlier this year for $1 million to go toward the Poultry Science Building that is estimated to be completed by Fall 2023.
