The web page about galleries that have closed is gone now, but I want to pay tribute to many of them once again.   I have been supporting myself as an artist now for over 30 years!   Those early galleries gave me a great start and I will always miss them.  From the gallery at Libby and Grove in Richmond, south to Premieres in Pawleys Island and many in between.  Kudos to Allison and Jill in Beaufort at Handscapes, Ray at Tidewater in Swansboro, Rosanne at Little Art Gallery in Raleigh and Denise at Fountainside here in Wilmington.   And will a ..read more

Occurred to me today after I had sent my email, that I have neglected to blog.  Really wanted to share my wonderful experience with Tina Garrett.  I took her workshop in Kansas City last November and it was such a positive choice.   Tina is an amazing artist and it was such a pleasure to watch her.  Even if she were not such a great artist, she is just a joy to be around.  She has a great sense of humor and is so willing to share what she knows.     The workshop was about edges and she follows Schmid's Alla Prima to the letter.   She certainly ..read more

I am so excited that in November I will be going to Kansas City to visit my sons and grandchildren and.... also to take a workshop with Tina Garrett in Lees Summit!   Tina is an amazing artist, who also has an amazing sense of humor.... ....I have never seen such beautiful sunset as those on the Sound at Pea Island.   They were never repeated, and each one had me leaping to the back deck with my camera. ...   So much to recall  in the 18 years of Kim's gallery...the remarkable artists and amazing visitors as well.  They will always be remembered.   When we first stepped on to the OBX in 1988, we never could have imagined that she would build a gallery in such an incredible place....or that we would meet such wonderful  people, both locals and customers.   For those who visited, hope yo ..read more
