A personal reflection on a time of service in Uganda with Imprint Hope Before the plane touches down in Entebbe, I am already looking out the window to examine the new landscape and geography of Uganda. When our group of 15 people, plus luggage is strategically loaded on a bus and driven three hours to our final destination, my eyes are soaking in the passing towns and people. My first impressions are unfiltered after traveling for 40+ hours with little sleep. I notice the images passing by my window like movie scenes. The untamed and vibrant natur ..read more

From May 24th to May 27th, 380 men from all over the world gathered in San Jose, Costa Rica for the 2024 International Coordinators’ Meeting (ICM) of the Sword of the Spirit. The theme of the meeting was, “From him, through him, for him are all things” from Romans 11: 36. Six coordinators from the People of Hope were blessed to attend the meeting. Indeed, our days were full of blessings from the Lord. Each day began with an exhortation and time of praise and worship, in both English and Spanish, followed by a teaching and then men’s groups with brothers from other communities. In the aft ..read more

I see It as Such a Joy: Reflections on Making a Public Commitment

This prayer meeting was impactful in a number of ways. First, what an awesome blessing to be able to celebrate the birthday of the church and realizing the blessing and the faithfulness of the Lord in our Catholic Church for over 2000 years!. Second and currently the most impactful was the joy of being able to enter into public commitment with my wife and four other great, faithful brothers and sisters. The prayer meeting was filled with a number of movements of the Holy Spirit for me. First I was called on by a word that was shared by Len Foreman from Zechariah 4:6. “This the word ..read more

A reflection on our most recent Marriage in the Holy Spirit Retreat with members of the Lighthouse district The Marriage in the Spirit Retreat was so beautiful and came in such a great time in our marriage. It wasn’t that we were going through anything monumental or having any big issues that we needed to work through. Rather, it provided necessary time and space to have important conversations during our first year of marriage. "...it was such a blessing to carve out uninterrupted time to really talk about these things..." A lot of the talks were similar to topics we discussed during marriage ..read more

Hear a little bit about what our senior women have been up to recently! The Daughters of Hope are enjoying another great year of fellowship in the Holy Spirit and sisterhood in the Lord at our monthly meetings. We began with a welcome back, Fall-themed get-together at Mary Quense's lovely back yard.  The highlight was sharing memories of Edwarda Harmon and Marie Romero, who both had recently passed.  In November, we welcomed the new Church year with appys, desserts, and noisemakers. In January, we celebrated the Epiphany with cookies, carols, and gifts.  We look forward to a Len ..read more

Gratitude for Small Groups

Three years ago, I moved to New Jersey. I had just graduated from college, we were in the middle of a pandemic, and I was moving to a strange place, starting a new job, and meeting completely new people. At first, I was worried joining a small group might be adding too much to what seemed like an already full plate. However, it became exactly what I needed. The women that I got to know through small group were so helpful in navigating this time of transition in life. It was a great space to talk through life: challenges with work, relationships, family. I was incredibly grateful I could talk a ..read more

An Easter Exhortation

Happy Easter brothers and sisters! I don’t know about you but sometimes I find it easier observing Lent than I do celebrating the Easter season. By no means, am I saying that giving up food and drink etc. is more enjoyable than biting into a piece of Easter candy. Rather, for some reason submitting myself to the rigors of Lent comes more naturally than celebrating Easter. Why is this so? As I search for an answer, I think of the disciples on the road to Emmaus who didn’t recognize Jesus until the breaking of the bread, or Mary Magdalen who didn’t recognize Jesus until He spoke her name, and St ..read more
