I’m so happy to be back to blogging and sharing with my loyal patrons and new folks who are just getting to know me! So many changes in 9 months! WHEW!! I did this exercise called neurographics using colored pens and markers and this was what came out. It’s a process to reprogram your brain around an issue or a problem you might be experiencing at the moment, using graphics on paper. So, this is the final image from the first attempt I made. It’s fascinating how it did influence my brain and actually came out looking like a bunch of neurons and helped me change my perspective on the issue. AN ..read more

I’m having a great fall in Phoenix, AZ so far! Had Thanksgiving with my kids and grandkids and extended family too. First one in a long time over here. And, I’m getting ready for a sweet arts and craft show at my new church home this weekend. I’m singing in the choir which rocks and does lots of gospel sounds with a very positive message! Unity Spiritual Center of Sun City. I’m showing a few new items of jewelry, some greeting cards and of course small paintings. It’s just to let the new crowd know what I do. Also, been playing with some new paints and techniques I need to perfect before addin ..read more

It’s been a crazy 6 months with all the projects!! Thankfully I’m making progress toward selling my home and downsizing! The one thing that’s hardest to downsize is my studio/gallery. Holding a lot of inventory here at home is tricky because it has to be climate controlled. A client reminded me recently, it’s going to be super hot moving all these paintings! Acrylics are really pretty durable, but they could get overheated and stick together if not properly packaged. So, best idea is to clear out as many as I can before having to pack them! SO, if price has been as issue for you regarding buyi ..read more

Been well over a month since I chatted with you all! Can’t believe how time flies…can you? I’ve been under the pressure cooker with all the stuff one has to do following the death of their spouse, even WITH grief brain. I’ve been so blessed by my community in getting through this rough patch AND I’ve been having some lovely times with family and friends through it all. Since I can claim 26% Irish DNA, and coming up is my second favorite holiday, St. Patrick’s Day, I’m excited to feature some of my green paintings and create some more. I’ve poured over a wooden Shamrock to hang on my front door ..read more

Sadly it’s been a week since the love of my life, my spiritual and marriage partner left this earthly realm. Roddy Jackson, 4-9-42 to 12-7-22, R.I.P., my love, I know you do. His kindness, fun and friendly nature, his deep intellect and his tremendous musical talent helped inform the last 28 years of my making life and art! We are both at Peace knowing the only constant is change, that life and love are eternal and we often reinvent ourselves because of these types of human changes. So, I’m committed in even greater ways to my painting, my spiritual and creative enlightenment, of course to my ..read more

Wonderful supporters, it’s exciting that you’re here reading my first blog on KateJacksonAbstractArt.com. It’s been a 40 year dream to have my own gallery, and though it’s not a brick and mortar retail store on Main St. as I kind of always envisioned, it IS a full gallery of my most recent love, fluid acrylic paintings! AND, it’s open 24/7 for your convenience and browsing and ease of buying pleasure! With 4 current galleries I know you can find color combos you like and sizes and shapes you like for any home or office need. From time to time I’ll be offering new pieces and blogging about them ..read more
