We do not treat any other right as listed in the constitution the same way the 2nd Amendment gets treated. We do not place prior restraint upon our rights to speech, worship, illegal search and seizure, due process, or any others, EXCEPT our right to keep and bear arms. Is it the function of the government to be the protector of the citizens? If so, to what extent?
