Here at Senza Gluten Restaurant, we’re often asked for recipes and cooking tips. While we aren’t able to share our recipes at this time, we’re happy to offer a few cooking tips from our kitchen to yours! Mushy pasta? Try a corn-based alternative – We sometimes hear from guests that gluten free pasta can be tricky to cook at home, especially when pasta gets mushy in the pot and sticks together. We tried many different types of pasta before landing on our current 100% corn pasta from Italy, and we find the texture to be excellent. Be sure to stir your pasta frequently and be careful not to overc ..read more

We’ve heard from many of our gluten free guests regarding their frustrations when dining out at restaurants that do not specialize in gluten free cooking – uncertain safety protocols, a general lack of awareness, limited menu options. Often the only dish they might be offered is a simple salad (hold the gluten-containing croutons, of course). So while many of our guests are often excited about our numerous pasta dishes, handmade gnocchi, or traditional Italian desserts, there is still something thrilling about being able to order a Caesar salad with gluten free croutons.  Our classic Caes ..read more

A special throwback to last April when Senza Gluten Restaurant was featured in Vogue! Senza Gluten’s owner, Teona Khaindrava, was interviewed for the piece to talk about our gluten free pasta and offer a few tips for making pasta at home.  Note – we do mention that the pasta used in our restaurant is corn-based and is very allergen friendly. This comment was made in reference to the pasta’s minimal ingredients (the pasta is 100% corn), so it can be a great choice for individuals who are gluten free and may have additional food restrictions. However, we are very aware that many individuals ..read more

We asked on social media what questions you have for Teona Khaindrava, Senza Gluten Restaurant’s owner and co-founder. Here are just a few questions and answers! “What’s the best advice for making homemade gluten free pasta?” This is a great question! Having the right ingredients is so important. A comment that I sometimes hear about gluten free pasta in general is that some brands fall apart or the pasta becomes mushy. We currently source our gluten free corn-based pasta from Italy, and we have excellent results (we do, however, have a different pasta and homemade gnocchi available for indivi ..read more
