First-year Pro Davis Bryant Reflects on Mistakes and Growth as a Golfer
By Jim Bebbington
Every golfer misses some goal by one stroke. It happens all the time.
But what about when you’re trying to make a living at the game? Imagine those moments: the slightly duffed chip, the drive that went wide, the missed putt.
When golf is your job, you have two choices in those kinds of situations: let them all fester and eat you up, or else let them go and move on. All of them. That’s what Aurora rookie professional golfer Davis Bryant says he learned long ago as a high-achieving high school and college ..read more

Meet the trio of Denver millennials making golf wear more relevant PHOTO BY CHRISTIAN MARCY-VEGA
Story By Jamie Siebrase

Pins & Aces co-founder Jon Major isn’t exactly giving off PGA tour player vibes. The business executive looks more like a linebacker than a golfer—which, in fact, is exactly what he was a decade ago when he played D1 college football for the Buffs at CU Boulder.
Like many athletes who have competed at a high level, Major was feeling a little lost after graduating from college and leaving football behind. He was looking ..read more

The first new golf course to be built on the front range in several years is falling into place
Bella Ridge is a labor of love. For decades the Podtburg family milked dairy cows on their farm near Johnstown and Berthoud. Rick and Carol Podtburg raised four boys on the land, and all took up golf.
“Shooting golf balls out the back pasture has always been a thing,” said Stephanie Podtburg, who is married to one of the four brothers, Greg.
So as the development from both the north and the south crept closer, in the mid 20-teens the Podtburgs began thinking about moving their dairy to a new site ..read more

Learn more about what Dodge’s compact SUV brings to the table
By Isaac Bouchard
The Dodge Hornet, a compact SUV twinned with the Alfa Romeo Tonale (both companies being part of Stellantis) comes in two basic forms: GT, which sports a 2-liter, turbocharged engine with outputs of 268hp & 295lb-ft, and the R/T, a plugin hybrid, with a 288-hp combo of 1.3L turbo and two electric motors. It’s juiced by a 12-kWh battery; the range is up to 32 miles on electricity. I leased the PHEV version a few months ago and was interested in how they compare, as I am quite smitten with the R/T.

TaylorMade’s new P∙UDI and P∙HDY will do the job nicely for players who prefer the look of an iron.
By Tony Dear
Of course, it had its reasons – companies with such sophisticated marketing departments and business analysis tools, and which sell as many products, tend not to make major commercial/marketplace gaffes. But if you thought it a little odd that TaylorMade positioned its UDI and HDy utility/long irons (first introduced a decade ago) in its Stealth line-up last time out, you probably weren’t alone.
The Carlsbad company’s Stealth irons were for game-improvers, of course. But golfers wit ..read more

Hannah Gregg Shows How to Match Speed and Line
by Ryan Gager
It can be nerve-racking to stand over a putt that has a severe break, especially when you are unsure how much break to play or how hard to hit the putt. In this edition of Data Driven, Professional Golfer Hannah Gregg demonstrates how to play these putts with the help of GOLFTEC’s Nick Clearwater. The first item on the checklist is to make a plan for how you want to hit this putt. Often, amateur golfers just step up to a putt and hit it without thinking about what line to take to play enough break.

Snell Golf is back after a troubling 2023 with three new balls that should restore the company’s reputation
By Tony Dear
Dean Snell says golfers making equipment choices can sometimes be overloaded with data and choices and end up suffering from that old stumbling block ‘paralysis by analysis’. “Sometimes there is just too much data,” he says on his company’s website. “It leaves many golfers feeling overwhelmed.”
Last week, the former TaylorMade and Titleist ballmaker introduced three new golf balls – the Prime 2.0, Prime, 3.0, and Prime 4.0 – designed to simplify the process of choosing the r ..read more
