Yesterday evening, I accompanied my wife to an event. It is not unusual that she is invited to certain societal events in Frankfurt, due to the nature of her work and the position she has. And I go along whenever I can (in drab of course), sort of as the pretty accompaniment that you often see alongside successful corporate managers. What’s in it for me? This was one of those short 4-h weeknight outings and this posting will also be a short one, as time is sparse right now. In my posting “Practice makes the mistress” from 22.11.2023, I told you that I had received a new professional challenge in 2015, which lead to the fact that I spent the week elsewhere, while being at home on the weekends only. The musical “Moulin Rouge!” premiered in Boston in 2019 and performances at Cologne’s Musical Dome started in November 2022. It was the highlight of the trip. As you know, Franzi loves opera, ballet, theater, musical, but this one was special because of its hot nightclub atmosphere, the juicy stage outfits, and slightly sizzling sexy innuendo. One of the benefits of travelling is to explore the local shopping scene. Granted, the big department stores all look alike to a certain extent and they all carry the same products and garments. Nonetheless, there are interesting differences to be discovered and there is also a significant number of local, privately-owned boutiques throughout Germany that sometimes offer unique outfits. After an exciting evening in that wonderful new jumpsuit, Franziska was getting ready for a day on the town, Cologne that is. Any cis girl can fall out of bed, be ready to head out the door 15 minutes later, and undoubtedly look like a woman. After arrival in Cologne and a first Kölsch (or two), Franziska checked in at that small hotel in the center of Colognes historic district and started unpacking her suitcase.
