Here’s the write up from our latest Tomb of Annihilation session, in which the death curse was mentioned for the first time. Once the characters had escaped Firefinger, we started Rainforest Reckoning, the adventure I wrote for the Tome of Beasts 3 Lairs book and featuring a couple of creatures I designed for TOB3. I had a lot of fun drawing the battle map for the adventure on my Tact-Tiles and adding trees etc from Loke Battlemats. Emerald Cascade Begin here with Session 0 – Caves of the Cockatrice 19th Eleint, 1495 DR (contd.) Trapped inside the stone tower at the top of Firef ..read more

Here’s the write up from our latest Tomb of Annihilation session. The PCs visited Firefinger – the first location they’ve been to in the jungles from the hardcover adventure itself. This session was notable for the players’ terrible rolls, particularly Tharhul’s player who rolled a succession of 1s, both when he was supposed to be guiding the group through the jungle, and in combat. Putting his d20 in a dice jail didn’t help, sadly. Inside Firefinger, we ran into one of the monster / room size issues Merric Blackman has been complaining about on his blog. Fighting Large pterafolk in a cave tha ..read more

Here’s the write up from our latest Scarlet Citadel session. The characters have returned to Level 4 of the dungeon so they can summon the chort devil Vuxarix using the skull portal and repay their debt. Last session, the characters defeated the many bats in the Bat Cavern, but this time they faced the derro bat cult and its leader, Gilsfeyr, a speaker in darkness (Creature Codex). We were down to just the three clerics again this session and the adventurers ended up in serious trouble against the derro. A second TPK was on the cards but they managed to escape on flying broomsticks. It was fun ..read more
