Go to Carmela’s for a nice dinner out. Get a good steak and nice glass of wine to take in the fun atmosphere and you’ll have a very good evening. Not feeling like a steak? Don’t worry, the rest of their menu offers plenty of other creative and good items too ..read more

The Venue is one of the more upscale restaurants in Lincoln and with that, they have one of the better menus. I enjoy their creativity and specials.
On a selection & price perspective, the Venue might be the best place in Lincoln to get a good Whiskey. They are also no slouch with their wine list.
But the real reason I go in is the bar. The bar area is all open seating and, in general is big enough that you can usually find a seat when walking in without a reservation. But if you can get a seat at one of the low lounger chairs around their bar, it’s even better. Between MoMo, Venu & La ..read more

Located on Innovation Campus, or the old State Fair Park, in the Scarlet Hotel, Well and Good is in a perfect spot to bring a Nebraska-themed restaurant to Lincoln. They bring things like Dorothy Lynch incorporated in a chef-inspired salad, a chef’s take on Runzas for an appetizer and calling dinner “supper” on the menu. Make sure you stop by the Barred Owl upstairs before or after supper for a really nice bar and cool views of the city. Overall, it’s easy to say that Well and Good does many things well (and good ..read more

JTK has the best steak in town, a Nebraska Wagyu Filet that is just wonderful. JTK itself has one of the most upscale vibes in town and is pretty darn good even without the steak. Bonus JTK probably might just have the best overall whiskey selection in Lincoln. So if you want steak and whiskey, JTK should probably be close to or at the top of your list. If you just want a really nice night out or have a special occasion you want to celebrate, JTK will fit the bill ..read more

If you go out and ask people on the street where to get a steak, Misty’s is probably where they will send you. Misty’s has been around forever and beef is what they do. If you find yourself at Misty’s, get the prime rib. While the best prime rib I’ve had is from a caterer who resides in a town of 200 (Boelus NE), Misty’s is pretty darn close. It’s also very important that you go the original Misty’s in Havelock. Not that the downtown location isn’t good too, but the original location is dripping with unique character that you shouldn’t miss. If you’re in town for a football game, go on Friday ..read more
