The National Museum of Australia framed photography. You just gotta love those cool still Canberra mornings. I snapped these eager rowers and hot air balloon goers from one of my favourite spots, Henry Rowland Park. The park is also a fantastic spot to capture Telstra Tower, Parliament House, the National Library and Commonwealth bridge. I love it when the sun peaks and hits the unique architecture of the National Museum of Australia. The architecture, though hard to precisely categorise, the building can be seen as an example of Charles Jencks‘ “new paradigm”. Some characteristics of ..read more

Crusin the Braddon fringe festival. This was the first time I ever attended the fringe festival down on Lonsdale st in Braddon. I have always heard rave reviews about, so I thought I might get myself down there and check it out. Canberra had some wild and stormy weather preceding, fortunately on this day the sun came a shining. The event on Lonsdale st far exceeded my expectations. The strip came alive with car enthusiasts Canberrans looking for a chilled afternoon. It was such a joy to be out in Canberra and take some snaps and experience this culture. The day certainly had a very European ..read more

Summernats rumbling down Northbourne ave Canberra. Summernats is an annual event that arrives in Canberra every January. This year it celebrated its 36th birthday. The event kicks off with a magnificent parade of street machines and muscle cars down Canberras main ave. Canberrans and tourists line the street and marvel at these beasts. I couldn’t help but feel nostalgic upon witnessing these beautiful vehicles, having owned a 1975 HJ holden Kingswood back in the day. Car enthusiasts come from all over the country to take part in summernats. It is one of Canberras top revenue earners ..read more

Warm Canberra evening. This image was taken from one of my favourites spots on Lake Burley Griffin, adjacent to one of my favourite cafe restaurants, The Jetty. This particular evening was one of those sultry, still and warm Canberra afternoons which made for a perfect opportunity to capture this shot at a longer exposure. Most of the times when i go down to the jetty there is a breeze which makes it difficult to get a clear shot. I must say I am very pleased with how this image turned out. All my images are processed on hahnemuele paper which is acid free. The giclee method provides exc ..read more

The arty town of Rochester, population just above 3,000,  is situated  180 kms north of Melbourne on the northern side of the Campaspe River. Rochester is between the town of Bendigo and the Murray River port of Echuca. I knew nothing of this town before I drive into it. I was taken a back by the stunning art work and you get the feeling straight away that there was a great love and pride by the towns people. Mural park, Moore St , is where the annual winners of the Rochester mural festival reside. The event is held every year in either late February of early March and eig ..read more

The Multicultural Festival  Canberra  was without a doubt its finest year yet, celebrating its 25th anniversary. In previous years the festival was very condensed, you seemed like you were tripping over peoples toes and you couldn’t breathe. It was a lot more spread out and easy to navigate. Just as well too, 350, 000 people attended this years National Multicultural Festival.      The Canberra weather came to the party too, the spring and summer season has been very unpredictable of late. The parade on Saturday was almost under threat by a storm but it was ..read more
