I designed the new logo for UK archery supplier Bowshot. They wanted something different to the typical designs out there, so I went with a brighter, bold badge-style logo.
Below is a shot of some designs created in Adobe Illustrator. I chose the font “Archivo Black” to make the logo bold and solid.
Below is a mockup of what the logo might look like on some merchandise.

I designed this clean, bold and colourful logo for NH Consulting to represent quality, experience, empathy and collaboration. The overlapping loops signify the ethical collaboration of the consulting business, and the bold text represents the legal aspect.
I sketched a few ideas, complete with some notes, on my iPad using Apple Notes and my Apple Pencil. These were sent to the client for feedback on which we should take forward.
Below is a shot of some of the logos mocked up in Adobe Illustrator. Fonts used are New Rubrik and Inter Tight in various weights.

I built Buckingham Cookware’s existing ecommerce website over ten years ago, and until this day, it was still running on the same outdated bespoke ecommerce platform. Buckingham Cookware got in touch with me recently, as their website was regularly breaking whenever the web hosts upgraded server software.
After some discussion, I recommended switching the platform to something more up-to-date and easy to manage and maintain. And to a platform that would help them to push sales. Their current website needed to be optimised for mobile, and the website migration had to be completed as quic ..read more

A new logo I designed for Soul Reflection Healing features two swans coming together to form a heart, signifying love and an emotional connection. Together, they create a powerful message of love, unity, and the profound reflection of one’s soul. The logo was created in Adobe Illustrator.
As with any logo design project, the sketch stage is crucial to the creative process. Here, I use my iPad and Apple Pencil to sketch various ideas and concepts for the logo.
During the sketch stage, I focus on capturing the essence and core elements of the logo, striving to create a visual representation tha ..read more

Depending on how many products you have in your Shopify store, it’s useful to plan how you want to organise them. You can use three methods, each with pros and cons.
Method 1: Categorised Shopify collections
This is the standard way of categorising products by simply adding them into appropriately named collections. For example, you may have collections like:
Computer memory
Hard drives
Monitors
Keyboards
Mice
This method is good if you don’t have many products, or your products don’t need to be subcategorised in any way. Each item above is a collection, so you have complete control over th ..read more

I’ve worked in a design agency, owned a design agency and operated as a self-employed design consultant for many years. So, I’ve experienced all ends of the spectrum. But, when it comes to deciding whether to use an agency or a freelancer, it depends on your project and budget. Or does it? I will tell you a few secrets I learned that may help you decide.
When to use an Agency
Agencies are helpful when you need an array of services. For example, as a retailer, you may need an ecommerce website building, printed catalogues, product photo shooting and maybe even product packaging.

When Rounded Accounting first came out, I loved its simplicity. But it’s been missing the ability to integrate with other services like Zapier, Google Sheets and Airtable for years, which makes it difficult to justify paying a subscription.
Rounded Accounting
I’d been asking for this feature for over three years, along with many others, but nothing was being done. It’s a feature that would have helped me create forecast reports so I could plan my workloads and holidays better.
In the end (2 years ago!), I decided to make the switch to another service. Rounded’s development is pains ..read more

Shopify is a popular ecommerce platform which powers over 4 million stores around the world. It has some great features and a very well-designed admin that makes running your store a breeze. Here are 8 reasons why you should choose Shopify as your ecommerce platform.
1. Shopify is a well-designed ecommerce platform.
I like the way Shopify is built. It’s a very polished piece of software, but looks aren’t everything. From a web designer’s perspective, there are many features I like about Shopify that make it easy to work with without having to install additional apps.
2. Shopify is fully custo ..read more

Here’s a quick trick to display content as accordions on mobile but as static content on desktop, using the details html tag.
Why do this?
This technique is especially useful when there is content that is suitable to be collapsed on mobile, but can remain fully visible on desktop. And, rather than complicate features by adding unnecessary JavaScript (or libraries), this method takes advantage of standard HTML features: details / summary.
Here’s our HTML. It’s important to note that the details tags should be open by default.
