AALITRA is a national organization that promotes an interest in all aspects of literary translation. They sponsor public lectures and events on literary translation and hold periodic conferences with university bodies interested in the theory and practice of literary translation. They also distribute news of events, conferences and other initiatives relevant to translators.

We have an exciting announcement regarding this year’s Translation Awards.
The French Embassy in Australia has added two extra prizes to the competition – for the two MOST OUTSTANDING STUDENT ENTRIES.
$250 prize for the MOST OUTSTANDING STUDENT ENTRY in the Prose Section
$250 prize for the MOST OUTSTANDING STUDENT ENTRY in the Poetry Section
These Outstanding Student Prizes are donated by the French Embassy in Australia.
