12 weeks ago I woke up with ‘start a podcast’ on my mind ✨again✨ and then gave myself 18 reasons why the timing still wasn’t right to start it. I didn’t know what equipment I needed. I hadn’t researched how to even record it. I didn’t actually have enough to talk about. Did I want the commitment. What’s it’s name? ? The list was long. But in my season of true growth before your very eyes, I concluded that the only way to figure this out (like everything) was messy. … and just like that, The Meaningful Mess Podcast was born. (And given the name somewhere in episode 2 lol.) Today I celebr ..read more

I am a ‘Hot Mess Mom’, and that’s okay!

People seem to think that being a ‘hot mess mom’ is a bad thing. In fact, someone even once shut me down for referring to myself as a ‘hot mess mom’ in front of a group of my peers and at the time I thought it was a wise redirection and I even thanked them for it. Until I carried on being an even messier (and hotter) mom and then I developed a complex over it. I’m a hot mess mom and there is nothing wrong with that! How did I build a complex over it? It’s like recognizing that all of my unfolded clothes, undecorated rooms, tightly wound days, Costco cakes versus Pinterest creations went agains ..read more

I have a feeling that I am about to sideline you with something unexpected.  Okay so it isn’t like serious… and I also wouldn’t be me if I wasn’t sharing these things with you as I am learning them, often in real time. I know many of you have watched me share on my social media, in my ‘Fav Things’ emails and more how much I love true crime podcasts/books/ALL of it. And the truth is, I do get a deep sense of entertainment by going along the ride for a major WTF story. But you know what else I’ve been brushing off over the last few months? Taking a walk pushing a stroller on a beautiful da ..read more

What if we never figure IT out...

Just a little food for thought I've been working through this week and wanted to share in case you needed it. Do you ever find yourself thinking ‘I need to just figure it out, and then <the thing I desire> will happen!’ The illusive ‘it’ that we have embodied the river running between where we are and where we desire to be in <insert life, business, weight, happiness, etc.> I have put all my chips in on ‘it’ for years and years now. I had been waiting for the unseen puzzle to finally assemble when ‘it’ is discovered… in which I have been uncomfortably content with allowing the time ..read more

Staying hydrated is of enormous significance no matter the diet you follow. However, people still neglect the importance of drinking an average of eight glasses of water per day. Instead, we tend to focus on the number of calories we take and avoiding processed foods.  Drinking water can help boost your metabolism rate and maintain your skin texture and smoothness. Writing this feels a little vulnerable. Not vulnerable in the way of ‘wow this is so personal and deep, I can’t believe I am sharing this with the world.’ More so in the ‘I wonder how this is going to be translated by people reading it and will they hear my heart’ vulnerability. On January 1st, I cracked open a planner for 2020 and decided this was THE YEAR I would use it correctly. I was ready to up level in my business, my family, and my self. And yes, in that order. I spent hours in it. I made my goals for the year. I set benchmarks to keep me tapped in to the momentum I was certain I was ..read more

It’s 2:06am as I’m opening the notes section of my phone to write this. I am laying here wide awake, again - uncomfortable.⁣ ⁣ In the morning, if will be a week since school was called off. Which happened a quick handful of days following the louder and louder chatter of the news, social media and the pit formed in some (maybe all, I can’t generalize this) of our stomachs.⁣     ⁣ The truth is that although we may be trying to make light of this insanity with social media, homeschooling memes or creating schedules for them at home... our children being out of school indefinitely feel ..read more

This goes to… Your average C student. Your waitress, bartender, grocery store cashier, babysitter. Your undecided major in college that took six years to graduate. Your undergrad degree holder that never used it. Your typical insecure girl in her 20’s who bounced from boyfriend to boyfriend for a sense of worth. Your uninspired woman who gladly took on the role as wife, mom & employee to fit the role of ‘fulfilled.’ Your common working mom with a wine obsession to make Tuesday evenings ‘fun.’ Your bored wife and mother who doesn’t have passion for anything when she swore her 30’s would b ..read more
