There have been some exciting developments
Following the launch of the first national NHS guidance on menopause, menopausal women working in NHS England will be able to work flexibly should they need to.
Break The Stigma
NHS England chief executive, Amanda Pritchard, has called on other employers to follow suit to help “break the stigma”.
She also said that many employees were “silently suffering” and were either too embarrassed to broach the subject or experience a “lack of support” when they did.

The menopause is a natural stage of life and yet it remains a taboo subject in many workplaces. A survey carried out by Dr Louise Newson and Dr Rebecca Lewis showed that Over 90% of women surveyed reported that their symptoms were having a negative impact on their work.

Menopause Awareness Month takes place in the month of October every year.
World Menopause Day is also held every year on the 18th of October. This day was designated by the International Menopause Society (IMS) to “raise awareness of menopause and to support options to improve health and well-being for women in mid-life and beyond.”
