Kyle and I met around 2019 at a house concert in Santa Barbara. Shio is a songwriter, composer, and performer from Santa Barbara currently based in New York. We have a ton of mutual friends including Mendeleyev who was on an earlier episode of the podcast, and the three of us played a show together in Santa Barbara back in August and I was blown away by Shio's musicality and ability to improvise.    Shio earned a degree in Santa Barbara for Ethnomusicology, and just recently completed her masters at the Berkeley School of Music in NYC.
