This week we took a trip over to the Crown Inn at Beeston to visit Secret Burger Club at their newest Wednesday night pop-up spot. Recently I had been getting my fix of their burgers at the Royal Oak in Radcliffe on Trent where we had already been treated to a couple of new burger...

This last Sunday the Secret Burger Club were at MESA Hockley for their second kitchen takeover at the restaurant. I was gutted that I missed their first one so I was determined to make it to this one
I am a massive superfan of their burger creations and have written countless words of prose deliberating, contemplating and eulogizing over the numerous fantastic combinations they have created
THE MENU
I was very happy to see that they had a couple of new creations on the menu including a brand new burger special called the CHIMICHURRI and new potato tater tot dish called DREAMY TOTS

On Friday we were on a bit of a pub crawl around Canning Circus, we had already navigated the Organ Grinder, The Falcon, and The Good Fellow George before finding ourselves here in The Sir John Borlase Warren.
Once I got meself comfortable with a nice pint of Everards Sunchaser I suddenly found myself a bit peckish so perused the menu to see what was on offer
SMASH BURGER MENU
It seems that they were doing a whole load of smash burger action something I could easily get down with so I took a punt on their cheapest and most basic offering the AMERICAN CLASSIC.
Detailed very simply on the menu ..read more

I confess that while this is sort of a post about Bustler Street Food in Nottingham it is really just an excuse to eat a lot of food from Secret Burger Club.
I ‘researched’ this over several months while I tracked them down time and time again to sample their specials.
I have written about all their burgers over the years and I am as in love with their smashburges now as much as I was back in 2017 when I first ate one.
So strap yourself in to look at some very tasty burgers!

Tonight we took a trip out of town over to Radcliffe on Trent to hunt down and devour a Patty Melt, the latest special from Secret Burger Club.
They park up their van outside the Royal Oak pub every Thursday night between 5 and 8.30pm serving all the usual classics ‘The Duke, The West Coast, and The Bacon Cheese’ all of which I am in love with
Secret Burger usually sling these alongside one of their Specials and every-so-often they have a new creation on the menu board.
TODAYS SPECIAL BOARD
Tonight they were introducing the PATTY MELT burger for £8.50 which they list on the menu board as a c ..read more

The RoundHouse Bar & Kitchen has finally re-opened around a year after it closed last summer. It has been a big miss on our Friday Night beer bimbles as we had it firmly pencilled in on our regular pub crawl up from the Canal Side past the Castle
Back then it was very much know for it’s food and was more of a restaurant really with a bit of drinking space in and around the place. I read that now it has reopened with a focus on being more of bar serving food
We popped in to check out the beer situation and invariably as these things go ended up eating a bit of pub grub as well

The Blind Rabbit at Weekday Cross in Nottingham is described as “a good old-fashioned neighbourhood bar that serves delicious cocktails, cold beers & tasty food.“
The blurb on their website tells us “The creative team behind Das Kino, The Magic Garden & Penny Lane, bring you a New York inspired Bar & Grill, serving unique cocktails & with a mission to deliver Nottingham’s best burger…”
Burger wise thats ‘fighting talk’ so obviously I could not let that pass and had to come in to check out a burger
We already have some heavyweight contenders for Nottingham’s Best Burger wi ..read more

I love eating the burgers from Secret Burger Club and take any opportunity to track them down for a taste whenever I can. Recently that has been a bit harder as they haven’t been in town a lot over the last year or so but happily this weekend they popped up on my feed as being set up over in Chilwell at the Barton Bros site so I packed up my bags and headed to the tram to pay them a visit.
If you are lucky you may see one of their many excellent specials on the menu but today they were just serving the classic menu. I an using the word ‘just‘ very loosely here as their ‘classics’ are way bet ..read more

Onur Burger on Alfreton Road appears at first sight to be just another halal takeaway joint but reading their website they appear to have loftier ambition and a calling
“Our restaurant was inspired by the desire to let everyone in Nottingham try what they have always been missing out on, the ONUR patty. This secret recipe formulated with beef was passed down through generations, originating in a small village called Akkuzulu. Finding its way 2200.6 miles from its home, here in Nottingham. The first one in the entire UK.
We paired our unique ONUR Burger with an American-style menu, which is al ..read more

Burger & Sauce on Alfreton Road is just one of many units located across the Midlands. As well as this one in Nottingham they also have branches in Leicester, Derby, Birmingham, and West Brom.
On their website they say that their Concept is very simple “Giving the customer a burger that ticks all the boxes from taste to price to quality. A burger should be simple and great tasting. It shouldn’t be made complicated. We use the freshest ingredients and bring them together under one bun to create a burger that tastes great.” that sounded good to me
On Friday night during a classic pub crawl ..read more
