Hi all, R25 TD 54 145K Had the smoke upon acceleration and loss of power and found the large front post intercooler hose split BADLY - I could get most my hand in! It was very oily so I wondered if it was caused by some sort of slow leak. I have read this a common failure, and the pipe normally gets oily and I think the pipe has 145k miles on it! However, seems too much oil? So I took the engine cover off and taped up the pipe to limp home (hundreds of miles) but now home have noticed... Split Intercooler Pipe and Turbo Oil Leak ..read more

Hi all, I have bought my first ever rover 45 (2.0 Diesel 2003 77k miles) and I have found some issues on my way back to home. Yes I know I should've checked the car before even buying it to be 100% certain that there's no issues with the car but on the other side I've found a bargain and went for it. The car was used by an elderly man and was used not very often (3k miles per year) mostly round town. He said that the old MAF sensor has been replaced with a aftermarket one, he also mentioned... Any pointers as to where start looking first ?. Last week or so the engine started cutting out turning right at roundabout or road bend. Engine management light comes on then goes off and engine resumes once turn ends and vehicle straighten. Never happens left. Most odd, & on lifting bonnet a mouse nest was found in bonnet insulation right above fuel pump. I've looked closely and no wires chewed there at least. Can anyone give pointers where to start. It's a 52plate CDT 75 Saloon runs sweet... Bizarre ! Cutting out of a 75 CDT when turning right ..read more

Auxiliary Belt Tensioner Help!

I noticed my 45 (L series) was making a squeak when revving, so after checking the forums I decided to change the Aux Belt Tensioner (and Belt). It went well, but I noticed that pulling the Tensioner back and putting the new belt on was not as easy as when I changed the last belt. I had to use a breaker bar instead of just a spanner and it took me a while to get it on. I couldn't find the torque spec for the L series Aux Belt Tensioner, so I went with 45nm as that's what a couple of other... Auxiliary Belt Tensioner Help ..read more

Hi guys, so I think I need my head checked cause I've got a zs td and I've decided I wanna try and get atleast 300hp outta it. So I could do with some advice I'm already planning on changing the turbo and the setup for it, fmic and all that stuff, but don't really know what else I need to do from there to make sure it can for one produce that power and for two not blow up. Could do with some recommendations on exactly what turbo to go for but after that I'm shooting in the dark, the engine... Chasing power ..read more
