The Peugeot 208 is the best-selling vehicle in Argentina in April. The Argentinean new light vehicle market dramatically slows down its fall this month to -5.5% and 31,018 sales vs. -36.4% in March. The year-to-date tally is now down -24.2% to 111,596. The Top 2 manufacturers defy the negative market with upticks: Toyota is up 1.8% to a splendid 24.5% share vs. 20.6% so far year while Volkswagen gains 11.8% but finds itself below it YTD level at 13.3% vs. 14.4%. The Toyota Yaris posts an excellent month at the expense of the Toyota Etios. Sales of new light vehicles in Argentina implode -36.4% year-on-year in March to 24,017 units, leading to a year-to-date tally off -30% to 80,084. Toyota (-30.1%) improves its share to 25.3% vs. 19.1% over Q1 with over 6,000 sales for the month. Volkswagen (-21.1%) resists somewhat and repeats at #2 above Fiat (-41.5%).
