For many years, and many more to come, people have gathered to enjoy music performances. The tradition started thousands of years before any of us were born, and will continue there after, but the form in which we choose is up to personal preference.   Whether it be in a small coffeehouse, jazz lounge or California desert, the two main options for music entertainment haven’t changed in a long time. Let’s take a look into the two options, festivals or concerts, and consider the differences, positives and negatives, of each venue.   Atmosphere and Duration  A few key differences b ..read more

Being a workaholic is easy to succumb to in today’s culture and so-called “grind.” In a society that is constantly on the move, cultivating the skill to slow yourself down and let yourself simply be is critical. Even though I myself am still learning how to take a step back and recharge, here are a few ways to allow your emotions to catch up with you physically. Don’t cancel social events that you were looking forward to simply to do a homework assignment. To be fair, it is good that you are being proactive and staying on top of your studies. However, you need to remember the “college experi ..read more

As the spring semester kicks into gear, almost everyone is talking about Kansas State’s Recreation Center and its motivated members taking over every machine, dumbbell and bench at all hours of the day. With the switch, though, comes several questions: What’s my budget? Do I want a commercial gym or a smaller, more “warehouse” feel to my gym ..read more

Your site automatically generates a series of scaled down images for each photo you upload for the various parts of your site that display different sizes of images. Cameras take pictures at a far higher resolution than will ever be useful on a website — the pictures you take are often more than 100 times larger than your website needs.  In order to keep your website from loading slowly, it is important that you scale your photos down appropriately before you upload them to your site. You can use PhotoShop’s cropping tools and Save for Web option to effectively reduce the file size of a p ..read more
