I have eight zucchini plants in my backyard garden, which I am doing for the first time this year. They are doing wonderfully and bloomed many blossoms (I am in central Florida, FYI), which have all been eaten! I'm pretty sure the culprit was squirrels. Has anyone dealt with this before, and how did you stop it? I read about spraying cayenne pepper mixed with water on the plants to deter squirrels...any experience with this, or other suggestions? Will my plants bloom again this year, or is... squirrels eating zucchini blossoms ..read more

I was mostly happy with the job it did, but it was cumbersome to ventilate and I wasn't very impressed... Greenhouse improvements ..read more

Chrysanthemums and aster are the most common flowering plants I see n the fall garden. But don't feel limited to growing mums, because there is a plethora of edible and ornamental plants that will grow throughout autumn and serve as garden decoration as well. So I was just wondering if anyone could tell me which specific type of tomatoes are tasty. I grew some last summer, and they grew very well, lots of fruit, but they really weren't very good. I was quite disappointed. They tasted more like the tomatoes you get this time of year. poo poo. Any suggestions will help ..read more
