Anybody have information on the theme for "Prime Time" on WPVI?   I see open and closing versions, possibly with an update, floating around in the few clips online. Was it an in-house music composition?   Edit: I've found the composer, Louis Anthony DeLise. He appears to be local, as was the publisher. Working to find out more ..read more

This is general discussion on: PHL 17 WHYY and other public media Comcast SportsNet español (Univision 65/Telemundo Philadelphia) What the hell, let's throw in KYW Newsradio and other radio stuff as well. Note that I omitted CW Philly 57. Since it's so linked with CBS 3, I figured discussion on that could go in the CBS 3 thread.   So I'll start with 17.   Apparently Antenna TV allows local bugs or something? Because 17 decided to be especially genius:     Yup, they're using their Great Entertainer logo as the bug. Which is amazing ..read more

This is the thread to discuss Delaware Valley's Leading News Program.   ...but in reality I just started it because I needed somewhere to put this:     Yes, that is Cecily Tynan preparing to throw a long bomb at Jeff Skversky, who is at the big board for High School Huddle. He caught it - cue high fiving.   Why on earth would I have recorded the rebroadcast ..read more

Since the stay at home order I've been up super late and have been watching Seinfeld at 12:30 & 1 AM on PHL17.  I've seen commercials for the PHL17 Morning News.  Why do they have their own news cast for the morning but 6ABC does the 10 pm news ..read more

A week or two ago I saw word that the upcoming Mummers Parade was leaving WPHL and would be airing on WDPN, sister station of WFMZ. With WPHL farming out their news operation in recent years and the likes of WCAU and WPVI lending talent, I figured WFMZ would have a large role in staffing the broadcast. However, it will be two familiar faces front and center- Larry Mendte and Dawn Stensland will be hosting.  ..read more
