It’s not the most obvious place that you might think of to find street art. But West Didsbury in Manchester is a place which has a number of impressive murals dotted around its streets.
Most of the works have been commissioned by the Matthew Ludlam Foundation. A charity formed to promote projects involving young people. With themes along the lines of urban form, design, street art, culture, music and travelling. They remember the interests of Matthew Ludlum the man, after whom the charity was named.

The line up for the 2023 Nuart Aberdeen festival has been announced. Thirteen different artists from the UK and across the World will add their artworks to the granite city. It will be the fifth time that the full festival has come to the city.
It’s a diverse and hugely impressive line up. Speaking about the range of artists visiting, Martyn Reed the Nuart Director, said that he couldn’t be happier. “I guess it’s testament to the hard work from all involved and the welcome that Aberdeen’s citizens have given to Nuart over the years”. Without exception he said, “everyone we reach out to says ye ..read more

Walthamstow has one of the best and most spread out street art scenes in London. From the central hub of Hoe Street to the areas around Wood Street and St James Street, there are many murals to see. Much of the work in the area is the result of local organisations such as Wood Street Walls.
Some of the biggest street artists in the world have painted in the Walthamstow area. Invader, Conor Harrington, Cam Scale, ROA and Axel Void have all created street art pieces. They join works from the likes of local artist Mark McClure and London regulars Nerone, ATM and Irony. The range of art in the are ..read more

Camden has always been a great place to find street art. Over the years the area has changed. It’s seen a lot of development. The area by the canal in particular has been transformed. Spots have come and gone but now there is a semi regular trail of street art crumbs to follow.
Street art in Camden can all be seen quite easily. You can visit the majority on a walk between three tube stations. Those are Chalk Farm, Camden and Mornington Crescent. It’s just a straight line to walk between each and there are some good spots along the route. Follow the route along Chalk Farm Road and most of the p ..read more

Street art by Brazilian artist Cranio has been appearing in London. The street artist is well known in the city. He’s visited quite a few times now. On each occasion leaving a trail of his artworks for people to find.
Known for his blue characters. He paints indigenous people from the Amazon. Often they will be interacting in some way with the modern world. A kind of juxtaposition between societies. Dressed in not much more than a loin cloth. They find themselves placed into our modern world.

It’s early in the new year and, in what has in recent years become a bit of a tradition. Penge in 2020 finds itself at the centre of the London street art scene. Home to our friends at London Calling Blog, they’ve been decorating the walls around the town for a number of years now
The first weekends in January aren’t generally prime painting time. It’s usually pretty cold, there’s a good chance of rain and it gets dark early. For London Calling though this isn’t about the conditions. This is about celebrating the anniversary of their blogging birthday which started five years ago this month. I ..read more

Upfest didn’t happen this year. In fact after 10 straight successful outings, Europe’s biggest street art festival took a break and launched its ‘Upfest Summer Editions’. Through the year the plan was to commission a variety of artworks. The intention of which was to keep street art alive in a fallow year for the festival.
Festival favourites such as My Dog Sighs, Bex Glover, Cheo and Jody Thomas all took part. This was alongside a host of others. The result being that over the year create a fresh new series of works were created in an area now famous for its street art.

Take a wander somewhere randomly in Portugal and you never really know what street art gems you might come across. That was certainly the case in the coastal town of Cascais. There, looking for a piece from the local artist Add Fuel, I stumbled on a whole lot more.
A short bus ride takes you from the centre of Cascais to the Torre neighbourhood. There, the artist painted a giant mural of a fishwife back in 2016. Standing proud on the side of tenement block its blue and white tile effect is distinctive of much of his work in the area. Many of the buildings in Cascais have similarly coloured til ..read more
