We are fortunate to have some friends living on some property, in the middle of nowhere, that is dead center on the track giving us almost 4:30 of totality. Planning to break out the glass and solar filters to figure out my exposure this weekend. Then it’s time to clean sensors, glass, filters, charge batteries, and format cards. This is probably the only opportunity I’ll have in my lifetime so I’d hate to discover dust on my sensor when I start editing. We’re adding a day to the trip... Read more ..read more

So, for those of you who bother to usually take 2 (or more) pieces of glass when you go into a park, have you ever just "winged it" and took just one body and one lens? And how happy were you with the results? Did you find yourself with situations where it wasn't wide enough or didn't have that much reach? I normally like to stay wide, especially in the parks, but you know as soon as you think that, there you go, you need a telephoto<sigh>. Maybe the question is "What's the happy medium ..read more

Tripod Question...

Not a rookie, know the rules and common decency issues... I do a lot of long exposure work and a tripod is coming. That isn't the question. The question: I don't really use photo backpacks so I'm either using a pelican case (as I am a pro) or a small shoulder messenger bag style bag. The rules on Disney's website says they have to be able to fit inside a backpack. However, I typically pack my camera inside the bag below, then lay the tripod on top and secure the top and lash it. I have... Read more ..read more

ALL PHOTO CREDIT GOES TO MICECHAT. I simply removed the watermark to make for a better wallpaper. I edited a bunch of MiceChat photos from the last several years to make the ultimate Disney wallpapers. This includes color edits, removing visual intrusions, and adding blur/focus effects. Done using Canva pro ..read more

Hello, I have encountered an unpleasant event. My 64gb sd stick from my camera has failed and all my photos are gone. The card is no longer readable on the camera. When I connect the card to the PC it shows up as empty and asks for formatting. After a bit of googling, I realised that you need special software to recover photos. I even tried a few, but did not achieve the desired result ...... Does anyone know how to help me ..read more

I wanted to create a place for us to share any work from the world, there are no restrictions here... show all, whether it be food, characters, resorts, etc etc etc Here is my first contribution, shot on a Mamiya RB67 ProSD @ 127mm. I didn't take great notes of my exposure, but this is likely shot at f/16. Fuji Veliva 100 used, scanned with an Epson V600 ..read more

Mirrorless regrets?

Anyone here already have an Canon R6mII? My 6DmII lived a full life and has gone to that great darkroom in the sky. I figured the R6 was the next logical successor, especially since I don't think a 6DmIII will ever see the light of day. What I'm wondering is if anyone changed over to mirrorless FF and then went into regret mode? Especially adapting (in all senses of the word) to a new mount lacking 3rd party support. I've got a M6mII I toy with but it hasn't been as great as... Read more ..read more
